Season 1 of Danger 5 may be the most perfectly executed comedy show in TV history. The minds that came up with this concept are genius's. The outrageous black humour is just enough without being being too offensive. Ilsa speaks Russian but everyone can understand her. Hitler and the rest of his henchmen are portrayed as cartoon baddies. Danger 5's boss is an Eagle. When featured characters die they always give a drink recipe. I have watched each episode dozens of times, it never gets old. I wish I could say the same for season 2. The edge they had in Season 1 was rounded off to an absurd degree. It was almost like the Best Boy on the first season became the director but didn't understand what made the first season so good.

Remember that short-lived MTV puppet show, "Super Adventure Team"? "Danger 5" reminds me of that, at least in spirit; and that's a positive comparison. The bad dubbing, cheap model props and thrown- together sets really sell the '60s spy show parody. Most of this is completely absurd, and the characters just take it in stride; I think that's why a lot of the humor works. Also, Hitler. And the Colonel is an eagle-headed ball-buster; he was actually mu favorite part and I was disappointed to see his involvement come to an end. Makes you wonder what other sorts of weirdness comes out of Australia. 7/10

'Danger 5' is an attempt at an absurdist spoof of the myriad spy, war, and action movie tropes in our cultural consciousness. However in execution the show is a bizarre, self-indulgent and disjointed mess that never quite makes it to being clever or satirical and fails to make any more than superficial use of its source material. 'Danger 5' is the product of creator/writer/director/actors Dario Russo and David Ashby who we can only assume were given a Netflix series after some executive saw how much ad revenue their racist, sexist, one-joke self-published web series 'Italian Spiderman' (2008) made. As the show's auteurs, they probably saw films like 'Inglorious Basterds' or 'Team America: World Police' and, without understanding their satirical construction, thought it would be funny combine the two. The result, much like 'Italian Spiderman', is a painful, tediously amateurish production featuring actors attempting to create humor by overacting and mugging for the camera.'Danger 5' is a show that is in no way original or distinct except in its terribleness and is an unworthy entrant into the wonderful worlds of absurdist and Australian humor. It is the single worst thing I have seen in the last 10 years and represents the only time I have ever yelled at my TV.I would not recommend 'Danger 5'

Comedy shows can take a while to find their feet but DANGER 5, an international group hell bent on taking down those damn Nazis and their nefarious plans, hits the ground running, shooting and punching. It has the look and feel of a 60's show even to go as far as having cheap looking sets and 'bad' special effects. The hard stereotyped cast play it (mostly) straight which allows the show to be camp, but not overly so.The laughs are hard & frequent and the action is fast paced, you never know what's coming next.If you like girls, guns, espionage, Hitler's dog and the perfect recipe for a Fruit Madrid, then this is the show for you.I've only seen the first two episodes but if the writers manage to keep this level of pace and comedy throughout the season, it's going to be a show that everyone will be talking about.
