xiandaihanyucidian US has best resource for such a documentary. Universities, NASA, national labs, Hollywood, I cannot image what is lack of. Frankly, The film is excellent for primary school kids based on my experience. As a adult, I prefer BBC documentaries on the same topic.Rich in content, best pictures and simulation videos I have ever see, even there are some scientific flaws. However, the isolated stories seems to be less of connection. From quark to atom, then gas, solid material, moon, planet, star, system, galaxy, group, universe. Each of them are connected. However, I get confused while Nile takes me to everywhere. It's a wonderful experience to enjoy the journey, however, I got a "spaceship" sick.
picpock The more you watch it the better person you will become.Knowledge comes to us when we realize we know nothing. This tiny pale blue dot is our home, a home in which people better, in every aspect, that the majority of us, tried, try, are trying to understand it and give us proved explanations.Earth is the base here, prepare yourself for a fantastic travel to the cosmos. We do not know why we are here, we are far from finding out, what is better than follow those beautiful minds making it easier for us?Enjoy!!!
benjaminburt If you're looking for a documentary on science and space, Cosmos is definitely the top of its class. Even among documentaries in general, it is sophisticated, intelligent, doesn't talk down to its audience, and is well-done. The only gripes I could have for it is that its animations often look cheap, and it's sometimes a little cheesy. That's it. However, if you're a climate-change-denier, flat-earther, or hyper- religious, this documentary will challenge you. Neil deGrasse Tyson is unapologetic when it comes to his convictions. Despite this, I think the series still stands on its own, and the bias is rather easily overlooked; and, even if you don't agree, you can't deny the grandeur and power of the words of the good doctor.
slicemaster I see here comparisons with Sagan's Cosmos and talks about dumbing it down etc. Thees series are just not for You. I found a little new info for myself as literate person in thees series. I just watched a show. It is a Show! An excellent one! It is targeted to people who not that interested in science in the first place. For people who find Sagan's Cosmos slow and boring. If You want something really new and really deep go read a book! Leave it show to a "normal" people. Tyson is on a frontier of a scientific literacy of main masses of people. And he doing a good job. He maybe not that of a scientists himself as somebody blame him. I don't care if he is not. I don't need him for that.I saw this series and it was fun, refreshing and inspiring. I still re watching it, when I want to get certain mood. I showed it to some "normal" people, and they stayed under impression and found it amusing. I strongly recommend it for a family watch.
