This show is interesting but Hugh mumbles throughout the whole show and doesn't speak clearly. Make sure you put on subtitles if you wanna understand what's going on.

Very mild spoilers/giveaways. This review is based on season 1.What an incredible hulu original!!! I'm still in shock at how much i enjoyed chance. I knew with a cast including Hugh laurie, gretchen mol and ethan suplee was not going to disappoint but oh boy did i underestimate them!! This series is based on a book by kem nunn of the same name. This series really brings the book to life. I think a book based TV series will always out-do a book based movie. So many twists and turns and about 8/10 episodes keep you white knuckled on the edge of your seat. The supporting actors were excellent all around and the pacing makes this show incredibly easy to binge. Chance is roughly an 8 hour series, but i felt like it was over before i could say "we need to make things right". Ethan suplee played the amazing character "D" who is very likable and you wanna root for him because he just wants to "make things right". Keep the auto-play on. I cannot wait to watch season 2! This show deserves emmy nominations at the bare-minimum for the 3 leads.

Give it a chance. I thought it was very morbid at first and I couldn't finish the first episode for a couple of days. Next thing I know, I'm binge watching. It gets better quickly and is some sort of odd mashup of Dexter, House, and Death Wish. Plus a little bit of Fatal Attraction. In other words it crosses genres. What makes it truly creepy is Hugh Laurie's rationality and humanity. Most of these fictionally depicted drives through the dark side entertain us by being just a little fantastical so we can step back and watch as a viewer instead of gulping nervously as a shadow participant. Because Hugh Laurie is so grounded and convincing, the whole series makes me shudder. On the creep factor, the first season is almost creepier than Mind Hunter.

Series 1 had moments of brilliance, especially the development of the main male characters. I'm glad it's been renewed. Series 2 is off to an edgy start. The cat and mouse atmosphere is well-conceived. The cast is excellent - all the characters have a mix of light and shade.I'm enjoying this season much more without the 'femme fatale' element. Female characters are more interesting mostly developed through Nicole, Chance's troubled teenage daughter. Sarcastic assistant Lucy adds humour. But D played by Ethan Suplee is the best character created in ages. Need to see more of Clark Peters. Hugh Laurie is great in the role and I hope to see him deliver this fabulous series set in San Francisco for seasons to come.
