The episode with the shrooms had a funny moment or two. The one with the witches had nothing funny at all. The one in Florida went like this: if we all get high together, all disagreements will magically disappear. Right. Gag me with a spoon. Oh, also: Florida is 100 white and racist whereas New York is 100 mixed and there's no prejudice. Sure. What's coming is, Iliana will learn being monogamous is groovy, right? And really, regarding the mushroom episode, or maybe it was peyote, I forget: how could they not have seen that coming? They get real high, they go their separate ways, gee, splitting up after dropping together was a bad idea. I could have told you that when I was 16. Anyway, the last couple episodes had no laughs at all. Worse, I noticed Iliana directed the most recent one. I realize there's a learning curve, but are you out of ideas? Can you no longer do funny? Is writing, acting, and directing too much for you? Are you subjecting us to trash while you experiment?

I binged watched this and at the time thought it was so so hilarious. Season 3 sort of put me off. Like the last episode on the plain talking about circumcision... what? I think it got to the point where they either ran out of good plots or thought how much can we get away here.Abi was funny she was just so unlucky. I didn't know what to make of Alana ? Do people like that. Really be out there I suppose in Brooklyn After a while she'd drive me f**king nuts.Think I'll give season4 a miss.Noticed lots of condensed hipsters commenting like you just don't man. Maybe I'm getting old(41)Also been a long time since I like workaholics (if I ever did)Past the stage in life where it's all about getting messed up. Bet none of those actors carry on like that. Hey bro if your 20 shot away but life has a sneaky way of catching up on you. I know believe me.Peace

There's a lot of great comedy pushing the envelope forward today and Broad City is certainly contributing to that renaissance. It has a distinct voice, it's unafraid to go to grosser places than any female-centered comedy to come before, and there's plenty in it that's relate-able.At the same time, it's an acquired taste. Personally, the show goes slightly beyond my gross-out threshold but this duo's comedy hits many others at a sweet spot. There's also an unevenness to the plots. In some ways, the show is faulted by being a typical slacker comedy which glorifies minimal plots where the characters do little or nothing. When the episode involves the characters in more high-stakes situations, then the comedy really thrives. The show centers around two twenty-something New Yorkers who are so completely and utterly irresponsible, they might qualify as psychopathic. They are completely out-of-tune with the world around them but they have each other (and a stoned out friend here or there who might qualify as intermediaries) and that's the beauty of their friendship. In lampooning the homo-erotic nature of protagonist friendships, one of the friends is out-and-out sexually obsessed with the other too.

If a guy you know says women aren't funny, turn them on to this. This show receives a lot of hate that it doesn't deserve from people and it's not a bad show at all. This show does something ingenious that I feel many comedy shows never thought of. Just one episode of Broad City feels like multiple comedy sketches connected by one story line and progressing throughout that story into something hilarious. Another thing, possibly my favorite, is the Broad City Gals' fearless use of raunchy humor. What men can do women can do, right? Yes. They're not afraid to act gross and reveal their flaws and talk about "Personal problems". They get gross just like guys do because the reality is nobody is perfect and that includes women and they bring that about wonderfully. Another thing they do well is the way they characterize the city. The city is always presenting challenges or awesome opportunities for Abbi and Ilana and they express the sentimentality of the city to them in the best way. This has changed my view of comedy as a man and I would definitely recommend this show a lot. For a show about expressing your flaws, this show is flawless.
