Just watched the pilot, and I am torn. Usually I rather like this kind of show, but the monumentally stiff acting of leading man Jake McLaughlin is quite unbearable. The rest of the ensemble (bar the female antagonist) does a fully passable job, and the plot does seem interesting. I might give episode 2 a chance in the hopes that Mr. McLaughlin grows into his part. He's not the only bad part about the pilot; the editing is uneven at best and the action sequences are so poorly choreographed it borders on slapstick comedy. Finally; the female antagonist might want to change her career, perhaps voice acting is more her speed.

It's funny but sometimes you really do have to give some things a chance and when Believe started I liked it but was not quite sure whether it would take the right turns. For me it did, I really enjoyed the rapport between Bo and Tate, it seemed to get better each week. I watched mainly because of their characters and would have liked to see more of their relationship, Bo becoming a teenager, maybe Tate and a girlfriend, who knows, and no-one ever will as is usual good things get cancelled by the powers that be. Not everyone is between 16-30, not everyone likes to be rushed into things, some people like things to develop at a slower pace. I take my hat off to Johhny Sequoyah for being believable, no pun intentioned, and Jake McLaughlin for his great performance as a troubled Dad. Guys I'll miss you.

This is not an untarnished genre, but I have found this show to be unique and original. Most notably, the style of the show uses the characters to tell the story, and the plot is subtly interdependent with it. It allows you to think about the plot, rather than forcing you to make singular assumptions about what exactly is going on. It doesn't isolate the viewer through needless and technically proliferous action. By the 3rd episode, I found its depth to be apparent. It is also nice that this appears to be a show that is both family oriented, and has adult themes. I think if you are the type of show goer that wants to see bullets flying everywhere and a bad guy put away at the end of each episode as it builds towards one epic and final exclamation, this is not for you.

It isn't that it isn't a good show - it's that it's too much aggravation to watch.First, no one tells him he is her father - which might, just might help him understand why he should take care of her... so, it's frustrating with the constant lack of cooperation.Second, the Mad-Man using the FBI with an Amber Alert looking for these supposed 'criminals' and the father and the girl and using his own torturous means of other 'special' people who are killing - even by accident just to find Bo because she's the best.... with such a frenzy - I just can't buy it.Bo helps people, which is great because we all like to see good deeds done but, the negativity of the rest of this show is a little too intense. In fact, there is more negativity going on than any positive influence. Sorry, I just gave up on this show. Correct it by lightening up a little and I would probably love this show.
