Alex, a seemingly normal high school student, appears to have everything together. However, viewers soon realize that Alex's life is far from perfect. Behind closed doors, Alex faces constant emotional and verbal abuse from a parent.

Alex deals with increasing pressure from school, his stepfather, and his internal conflicts, while Mr. Always Right becomes a more frequent presence in his imagination.

Alex's friendships begin to falter, and his withdrawal becomes more obvious. Emma continues to reach out but struggles to help him.
