Reviews

NoloContendere In an almost uncanny repeat of its mishandling of Firefly, FOX gave us Almost Human... and then taketh it away. This show was terrific, featuring an excellent cast, timely themes, and a near-future setting that was just enough "wow" without too much "whatever". The loss of this series just 13 episodes in left a tragic gap in current sci-fi television that has not been filled since.
Jan van Driel I saw this series only recently, but what a good show. Unbelievable that the series was cancelled after 1 season only. Don't understand the logic of that.
Wizard-8 While I wouldn't call "Almost Human" one of the BEST sci-fi television shows ever made, it was all the same a solid show. I watched every episode, and I was bummed when it was cancelled. I liked the show for a number of reasons. The show had some really good ideas of what new technology - good or bad - might happen several decades from now. Every episode was well-paced with an agreeable blend of drama and action. The best thing about the show, however, was the relationship between the two lead characters. There was some good chemistry, as well as some real character development.Hopefully, the shameful way that the FOX network treated this show will finally give sci-fi television show producers a clue that FOX has never handled sci-fi television shows very well (for example, remember "Alien Nation"?) If you are such a producer and are reading this, pitch your proposed show to another network instead.
D J I am not one to write review or waste my time writing things online, though when I found out this show was cancelled by FOX after the first season, I was convinced that the network is run by people too dumb to understand sci-fi crime dramas. I made an account here just so I could do this review because of this. Why would Fox cancel this show that has reviews of 80% or higher amongst all its followers after just showing for the first season. Not to mention they also put them on a crappy night of the week, and the show still manage to get great reviews and have good following. The show deserved more chances as it was a well-thought-out show. The potential that the show had for future random plots is endless and could go on forever. No other police sci-fi drama can compare to the show, and if there's a way to give it another chance, we should find that way and make it happen.
