DonutLover At first I thought "who are these hicks?" and why are they shooting at beautiful wild creatures! And why do they talk that way!!? But then as I've watched the episodes I see that this is a very intact, loving family, and sure even though they are homeschooled and probably wouldn't score super high S.A.T.s, they are emotionally intact and don't seem to suffer from the personality disorders that are showcased on so many reality shows! Think the housewives (narcissism and bi polar) and Kardashians (narcissism and illiteracy). These children are close, and supportive and helpful to each other, and it looks to me like the parents have doled out a lot of love and knowledge over the years.Okay, some of it might be fake as others have written, but who cares. For the most part these young men have not developed addictions to pornography during adolescence, which is a real danger these days! Neural pruning occurs during adolescence, and if boys are "doing their thing" to pornographic videos then that can lead to real trouble later on (just google it, okay? this is not new news). So in that way at least, these young men would be the rare healthy type of boyfriends and husbands to young women who are crying out for "real men" in today's world. Growing up running around in the woods and on a boat has made them healthy, in other words, not sitting in front of a computer or TV playing video games during their formative years.I do wish there could be some money for the teeth, especially for the older girl as she is naturally pretty, and would be very attractive with her teeth fixed.I hope very much that the mother recovers from her cancer, and it is heartwarming to see the family give her so much support during this time. Of course cancer does sometime force us to say goodbye to our loved ones, and if this is the case then Ami can go onto her next journey knowing that her family is VERY well adjusted, and supportive of each other. Really what more does a mother want than to know that her children are happy and will have joy in their lives. That said, I do hope she lives for decades!I think it's cool that the youngest wants to become a sheriff. Go young guy! We need all the good cops we can get! I hope the family doesn't shoot the bears in Colorado. The state is not that big....the bears are just trying to hang on, surrounded by people and loss of habitat....so please don't kill the bears.

LawrenceJoseSinclair Interesting what passes for reality now, and the 'avg folks' types now getting to the same level of truly talented 'not quite the star' types - like Art Carney as sidekick Ed Norton, comes to mind first.. Things I noticed right away (1) the brothers not only don't look like bros, but all seem to have different accents, I've yet to figure out where the heck Noah came from - totally diff't look, accent, and add 50 IQ points to the rest of the Brown-Gump family.. (2) some bad teeth, other good teeth - whassup w that? you can't eat moose, bear, & jerky without good teeth people (3) the "Good Lord" gets mentioned whenever there's some drama or tragedy, as if now "he" will help with seizures or other recent tragedies AFTER dishing it out to begin with.. (he's busy w the cosmos, stars get priority - we hope!) (4) the annoying MUSIC, you can be listening to them announce cancer & it sounds like Hollywood film music, killing any sense of reality or family drama (5) NO sex, apparently -- really - not even the parents? sure, but w five young men at full hormonal stage, plus a 14 yr old looking like the hot girl in high school.. for whom is she doing this, the "Good Lord?" -- someone on the film crew? fans at home?there are other things, they never show meals, just maybe some backstrap frying after a deer kill - I'll wager it's a big spread of 4-5 fresh things they pretend not to have, and a platter of 10-20 lbs of various meats.. AFTER ALL: there's a family of NINE w dog to feed, and a film crew of, what, 10-20 more? don't kid yerself, it's like a FEAST on the set, daily... Dianne I do enjoy the different choices in lifestyles that people make, and this is just an example. Love the Alaskan reality shows. It's a pleasure to watch Matt :) he's a fox, so handsome! and smart. They all are gutsy, interesting and inspiring. Not all of us are equal. Not all want to conform to the demands of city's stress. Some say it's all fake, this and that. Who cares? if you're watching, it's because it's catching your attention. Enjoying it as opposed to suffering, right? Only one suggestion, I think they all need girlfriends and boyfriends, some personal TLC..outside the "pack" guys! Keep it going!! We love you all.

johnbrandt-61369 i don't mean to seam ignorant but I'm wondering if those kids are bread from incest because Its not normal for all the kids to talk like that I could see one or two kids in the family that have a speech impairment but all it just seams fishy to me. and I don't think those kids or as old as they say they are especially the two girls that one she's not 23 or 24 what's her name big bird or snowbird. and who would name their kids that? if I was those kids I would be madder than hell. I know I'll get a lot of negative feedback on the comment but I'm just inquiring I'm not saying they are from incest but I'm just wondering if somebody does know for a fact if they are related the mother and father. thank you for your understanding and please forgive my grammar I am just spelling though Im speaking I didn't proofread it .
