Synopsis

Akira Tachibana is a soft-spoken high school student who used to be a part of the track and field club but, due to an injury, she is no longer able to run as fast as she once could. Working part-time at a family restaurant as a recourse, she finds herself inexplicably falling love with her manager, a divorced 45-year-old man with a young son. Despite the age gap, Akira wholeheartedly embraces his mannerisms and kind nature, which is seen as spinelessness by the other employees, and little by little, the two begin to understand each other. Although unable to explain why exactly she is attracted to him, Akira believes that a concrete reason is not needed to truly love someone. On a rainy day, she decides to finally tell her manager about how she feels... but just how will he react?

Irishchatter I thought this anime was very good, the characters Akira and Mr Kondo were just so very sweet together. You know, regardless of their ages, it wouldn't matter to me if they were dating because you can tell they were so in love with each other but couldn't show it. I mean age is just only a black and white number at the end of the day, honestly! I really wish they were confident enough to show the world they love each other to bits, but just are too afraid of what society thinks about them! Definately recommending this anime to watch if you want to waste your time on being less bored or are a fan of romantic anime!
lucasdidonatis Okay, 4th review so far. This anime starts off with a 17 year old girl who falls in love with her 45 year old boss. There´s no point on giving out more information and, as you will find out if you keep reading, this didn´t seem to be the main argument of this story. My philosophy: you can always find something in an anime that you´ve never seen before, and for me that´s enough to make it a worthy watch (which is why i´d never tell anyone not to watch an anime). However, there are some things you need to know before you watch. This anime caught me off guard, it´s not finished yet (only 10 episodes so far), but i think i´ve seen enough to make a helpfull review.I´m new to this genre, but i decided to give this anime one shot mainly because i wanted to see the outcome of the strange situation that it presents. I must say during first episodes i felt the temptation of leaving it. The opening is awfull, it´s childish and stupid, and doesn´t fit for this anime at all. For the first few episodes i felt disappointed because i guessed there had to be a strong reason for this girl being in love with their boss, and i didn´t like the characters nor the way they were introduced.Having said that, i´m glad i continued watching. This anime is not only about a young girl loving an old man. It´s about an interesting conception of youth and oldness beyond age itself. It´s about dreams and hopes for the future and the way they can affect us. It´s about friendship and trying to move on when we are in a tough spot. I havent finished this series yet, but i will as soon as the new episodes comes out. The last episodes were amazing, showing extremelly mature reasonings from several characters and a way to percieve the world that stunished me.The more i watched, the more i liked the characters and it´s development. The sountrack is excelent (the opening doesnt count) and the animation is full of detail aswell. I don´t know how this is going to end, but i must say so far i´m pleased. It´s a 9/10 for me, and if you are into this kind of romance genre, i´m sure you will like it. Specially recomended if you have seen and liked the movie "Garden of Words" (and if you saw this anime but you didn´t see garden of words, waiste no more time and watch it, i consider it to be one of the best romance masterpieces ever crafted). Thanks for reading!
en-11843 Love is like after the rain, like after the rain. The feeling of love, is like after the rain, sunshine and warm. The ending of love, is like after the rain, stop and refrain. The anime is the best of the best literature and art and love anime in these years. There are too many advantages to be listed in here. When watching the anime, you feel like reading some meaningful prose, like those written by Chinese literature Lu Xun. Again, there are too many advantages. I picked the one is the most easily be overlooked. Imagery. The anime is very outstanding and successful in the use of imagery. Every episode is using a lot of Imagery to implicates and expresses emotions and endings. Some imagery even has more than three different levels of meaning, implicating and functioning. The feeling is so marvelous if you can find those imagery. The anime is so magnificent.
allaboutyourtrees I stumbled upon this one in amazon Prime and can't recommend it enough. The topic of loving someone older/younger than you is a sensitive subject, but most of us have had crushes on teachers or bosses at one point or another so its easily relatable for most of us I would say. It is handled with innocence and well just perfectly (this isn't a trashy anime). The underlying theme is of dreams and what happens when we give up on them (I won't go into details of those hopes/dreams to be spoiler free). Akira and Mr. Kondo are both dealing with loss of hope or loss of dreams. Mr. Kondo is awakened to possibilities (brought back to life you might say) by Akira's reminding him of what it felt like to be young. The romance/friendship is sweet and innocent and just makes me laugh. The writing and voice acting are just out of this world good! Maybe its just the time in my life and this is the story I needed to experience right now (a small theme in one of the episodes btw) but I haven't enjoyed an anime quite this much in a while. I'm currently 10 episodes in and absolutely enthralled! Highly recommended for anyone who has had dreams that weren't realized or love that you just couldn't get out of your head. Oh the music and art are amazing and really do amazing things to my heart strings. Try it! Yes I'm an older dude who likes anime. Sue me. Japanese anime culture is just fascinating to me.
