24 Legacy is a stand alone show. Granted I've never seen an episode of the original series and I'm sure fans of it are cringing at me saying this, but I've never seen it and absolutely love this show. I loved Corey Hawkins as Eric Carter and Ashley Thomas as his brother Isaac, I thought their dynamic was real and loved how the show went on in real time. 24 Legacy was an action packed little show on Fox and I think Fox should of given this show another season, but I guess it goes along with the movie remakes, fans will never go for another show or movie if it isn't the original. But coming from someone who never seen 24 or heard of Jack Bauer, it was a great little show.

First of all I want to condole the families of the victims of yesterday evening's attack in London. If the western world wants to prevent terrorism, the agencies need to be much more competent than CTU is in this series.I liked watching the original series, but after season 1 it didn't get any better. More of the same. What was one of it's selling points was the length of it. The story was spread over 24 episodes and therefore there unfolded a somewhat believable story line with back stories to give it some meaning and purpose. 24: Legacy puts in the same amount of action in halve the time and therefore lacking a interesting narrative. It's almost if they put action scenes after one another. That is why I don't have faith in 4D-cinema. I'm afraid this is yet another nail in the coffin of a good story line. What bothered me also was that it felt like a love story. Most of the peoples actions where a result of their loved ones being threatened. Apparently when there is a serious thread to national security CTU hold a open house to everyone who want to come and visit.Luckily there wasn't a mole at CTU but that was 'compensated' by a plot line of American government officials kidnapping a little girl as leverage fore future terrorists attacks.About the real time thing. A woman is strapped in a bomb vest. You are asking her whom is it they are holding her leverage over. She is hysterical and doesn't answer but when you begin to dismantle the bomb she is calm-ish. Maybe this is the time to ask her again why it is that she is wearing the vest and whom the terrorists are using inside CTU. But no, we wait till the vest is dismantled and so wasting precious time and risk the vest blowing the woman into the sky and get an answer, if any, much later. All in all I was glad the last episode ended.

I hate to say it, but "24: Legacy" (2017) was mostly average stuff; I'd give the 12-episode arc a 7 out of 10 for being a mildly engaging thriller, but nothing more than that.I was one of the few people back in the day who opined that "24" could continue even without Kiefer Sutherland. As priceless as he was in his role as anti-hero Jack Bauer, he wasn't the only star of the show — the show's gritty universe and its unique format could carry on without him. I even thought, during the early years, that Fox was grooming Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) to be a viable lead if Sutherland departed.I still think the show could manage without Sutherland. The real culprit behind "Legacy's" failure to stand out was its somewhat average writing. It wasn't bad, exactly
it was just average. (Alright — for a little while, it was bad. We see a key subplot/cliffhanger repeated three times, consecutively, in the same season. I'm surprised that major redundancy made it past the editing process.) But mostly, it was average — we see thin staples of characters, and a plot that seemed largely reminiscent of
well, every other season of "24." (Admittedly, it must be tough after nine years to think up an original story for a serialized contemporary terror thriller in real-time format.)The sad part is this — during the show's final two or three episodes, it started showing more promise, with truly original plotting and unexpected conflicts. The show got disappointing ratings. We won't know until at least May, but I think most viewers are guessing it won't be renewed for another season.

At one point "24" was very good. Season 1 at least came with something new, gripping, highly addictive and relatively believable. However, following seasons simply failed to deliver. I for one can not stand it when producers treat us "viewers" like mindless, unintelligent morons, ready to swallow any old rubbish they concoct. More than likely, the writers come with these ideas under duress, worrying about their jobs if they don't give the corporate decision makers what they think the public wants. How can someone believe the antics going on inside a top notch government agency like CTU??? People running around ALWAYS suspecting traitors from within own ranks, threatening colleagues with loaded guns, pistol whipping other - internal - employees into submission/cooperation, mistrusting everyone, and so on...??!??!I mean come on, give me a break! For the love of god, please stop spewing this type of rubbish out, just for the sake of filling air time!I could not help myself and viewed one episode, just to satisfy my curiosity, woefully hoping and praying it will be worth watching in entirety, partly because Keifer Sutherland was no longer cast. Sadly, I was so disappointed I could not help myself but write this review. The actors are without substance, the plot is weak, the characters non- intriguing since from word go we're plunged into mindless action, and of course we have one "hero" being pitted against a ruthless terrorist organization, on his own, without any support and totally distrusting his own people to boot. Brilliant, just brilliant. Conclusion, this is junk. Don't waste your time. It was done in haste, by people that are more concerned with profits and air time, as opposed to quality filming.Watch "Homeland" if you want a real intelligent and gripping TV series.
