Zeitgeist means defining spirit or mood of a particular eraDirector Peter Joseph, who started as a musician and a drop out from college had varied interest and did not like advertising, and tried day trading in stock market, editing videos, investigating economist theories. He created two videos and presented it to audience where he performed live music. That is what resulted in Zeitgeist, which he initially posted on a free website which was converted to a DVD (non-commercial distribution priced at USD 5/-. That made the film traveled to festival circuits and grew in popularity. The rest they say is history.Zeitgiest talks about fundamental root causes of human problems. It starts with hypothetical propositions of ideas about 1) ideas about parallels of Jesus' birth with several other Egyptian Gods associated with astronomical occurrences 2) Conspiracy around Sep 9/11 terrorist attack done from within CIA to unify American society and get a common enemy and curb individual freedom 3) The role of Federal Bank in keeping people under debt and sustain wars / conflicts to profit private banks and arms producers 4) A possibility of unified North America that ultimately lead to One World Government where people lose privacy because of constant surveillance All of these put together may be termed as conspiracy theory and one can not rule out such plausible scenarios in future. Because of its popularity Peter immediately followed it up with a Zeitgeist movement and trilogy films Zeitgeist Addendum (solution based with Jacque Fresco) and Zeitgeist Moving Forward to create social change. Recently Peter also published a book titled "The New Human Rights Movement" and came out with another documentary titled InterReflection 1.The documentary is poorly made. It is crude. There are also errors (or lies stated) in his facts.(Krishna was not born to virgin nor was he born on 25 Dec as claimed). I assume, that due to lack of my knowledge on other fields - the errors and lie may multiply. At this point - we have to just assume and take what Peter Joseph presents at face value.Surely one can not miss some vital points it raises. Seeing such an exceptionally positive response, Peter decided to call himself activist and work towards a "Solution Model" to the issues raised through his documentaries.Peter Joseph has strong backlash from establishments (government, media, banks, capitalist etc.) but with today's internet age - he has a good following to give him that impetus to continue forward. One quote by Peter Joseph "We live in a sick culture, society is mentally ill. Today to be normal is to be messed up". I like this quote because I feel the same way about the world.I will go with 6.75 out of 10

This movie is amazing. Like all good movies it makes you think and question. Even if you don't agree with any of the points made you cannot rubbish it because that's exactly the point. To question, to think to be ourselves and not blind.

If you're one of those who wears an Alfoil hat to prevent the CIA stealing your brain waves, you'll love this and give it 10/10.If you're not, you'll probably recognize a few facts, mixed in with a few eyewitness accounts (when dealing with 11/9, as we non- Americans write the date), and the occasional pertinent point.Sadly it all adds up to a fairly rambling conspiracist rant, which is entertaining, but just as dangerous and damaging as other productions it seeks to ridicule. Like Michael Moore (all his stuff) and Al Gore (himself an inconvenient truth), thou shalt have no other god but Peter Joseph when it comes to 'Zeitgeist'. All these film makers have valid points to make. Alas they allow themselves to wade into the same blinkered thinking as those they openly oppose....

I feel compelled to write this review in the hope that others are not unknowingly fed with lies; the documentary clearly makes the assumption that the viewer will not research the content.Ironically this is in part exactly what the documentary itself attacks.I do not know much about Horus or Mithras, but I do have partial knowledge of Dionysus, all of whom the documentary claim Jesus was pretty much an exact copy of.Realising what the documentary was saying about Dionysus was incorrect, I decided to do a bit of research into the other gods. As suspected, Zeitgeist creates it's own 'facts' as it goes along to fit its agenda. It also talks about the Crux (Southern Cross). This, to the best of my knowledge, in not ever visible in the Northern Hemisphere; Zeitgeist makes the claim that the Crux is fundamental to the period of resurrection of the above mentioned gods. How the ancient civilizations in the Northern Hemisphere were able to see the Crux is beyond me.I did not have the will to research other parts of the documentary, but given the level of inaccuracies and the number statements that are not based on any truths in the first 30 minutes alone, I suspect the theme continued throughout.I have nothing against conspiracy theories, however implausible, but Zeitgeist decides to take it upon itself to literary make up 'truths'.At best it makes people question what is around us, but most likely it will leave viewers with false knowledge that will no doubt be fed on to others.Watch Zeitgeist if you must, but please take what you hear with a pinch of salt.I can only give this a 1 as it is as guilty as the religious texts it spends so long criticizing.
