rbaumann-1 We viewed this movie in our church, complete with Japanese sub-titles, yesterday. It is a sad little story about the effects of Alzheimer's Disease upon a couple. It makes little contribution to the story that the man is Caucasian and the woman is Asian. What matters is their love for one another. One might argue that the obstacles over an interracial marriage strengthen them as does a sub-plot surrounding the financial losses the family has had to face. Alzheimer's Disease is a long, slow goodbye. One can feel tremendous sympathy for the characters. The script is well-written and well directed. Bo Svenson, the lead, is normally associated with action adventure films, but he shows remarkable range here. You will find it hard to watch at times. Keep a handkerchief ready.
