Terryfan I'll never forget watching this Pay Per View live when the World Wrestling Federation was up against not only World Championship Wrestling but Extreme Championship Wrestling as Vince McMahon's children bought rival companies to challenge the WWF.Now this is the first time we get a PPV for the Invasion hints the name where WCW and ECW for weeks appear on WWF Programming and it was a huge deal in 2001.Now lets get on the event itself this was the only Pay Per View we order live to make it clear I'll list what federation each wrestler worked for by their names so you would know.Match 1: Edge and Christian (WWF) vs Lance Storm and Mike Awesome (ECW) Now this was a pretty good opening match and this is when tag team wrestling was fun to watch. The match itself gave us a preview what was to come for the show both teams work a good match together.Rating: 8 out of 10Match 2: Earl Hebner (WWF) Vs Nick Patrick (WCW) with Mick Foley as the special guest Referee. Now this match feature the two referees from both companies. All started when Nick was being a dirty referee this leads to Earl challenging to a match. The match itself the crowd was really into this match sure it helps Mick was there but the crowd was into this match and there surprising enough interesting spots in the match so it goes to show anything can happen in the WWF.Rating: 7 out of 10Match 3: The Acolytes Protection Agency Faarooq and Bradsaw The WWF Tag Team Champions (WWF) vs The Natural Born Thrillers Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo the WCW Tag Team Champions (WCW). Now their respected titles were not on the line it was about proud. The APA one of my favorite tag teams were driven to stand up for the WWF and they did in this match I remember cheering them on and got pump up seeing them kick the Natural Born Thrillers hides. But still a strong hard hitting match. Rating: 8 out of 10Match 4: Billy Kidman WCW Cruiserweight Champion (WCW) Vs X-Pac WWF Light Heavyweight Champion (WWF) Now again no titles on the light just proud. Both men work a good match with each other and Billy Kidman did prove a point in this match.Rating: 7 out of 10Match 5: Raven (ECW) Vs William Regal (WWF) nothing too much to make a comment on about this match it just wasn't what you expect, Quote The Raven NevermoreRating: 4 out of 10Match 6: Chris Kanyon,Shawn Stasiak, and Hugh Morrus (WCW) Vs Billy Gunn, The Big Show, and Albert (WWF) this was a six man tag match and pretty much was too short to even give it a good enough ratting.Rating: 5 out of 10Match 7: Tajiri (WWF) vs Tazz (ECW) now this was a better match than the last two and good finish.Rating: 7 out of 10Match 8: Rob Van Dam (ECW) Vs Jeff Hardy (WWF) For the World Wrestling Federation Hardcore Championship. Now this match is one of the selling ones for this show as both men give us a really excellent match with great spots that you will be like no way that happen. This is what hardcore wrestling is about Rating: 9 out of 10Match 9: Trish Stratus and Lita (WWF) Vs Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler (WCW) Bra and Panties Match with Mick Foley Special Guest Referee. The match itself feature two of the greatest female wrestlers in wrestling history and they prove that they could work together despite being rivals.Rating: 8 out of 10Match 10: The Inaugural Brawl Match Team WWF: Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker and Kane vs Team WCW/ECW: Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page,Rhyno, The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley) Now this is how you deserve on the main event considering you had your top best from each Federation to face each other. I can tell you my brother and i were on the edge of our seats for this match with so many high spots and the climax of the match still blows our minds and left us stunned and shocked it's one of the most powerful matches in the history of the WWF with one of the biggest shockers in historyRating: 9 out of 10WWF Invasion prove to be one of the most interesting events the World Wrestling Federation had and one of the most amazing ones in their history if you love wrestling give this show a try I give WWF Invasion an 9 out of 10

ThomasRiordan911 I remember seeing this pay per view in Champs Sports Bar with a crowd of about 100 people. Every match on the car was entertaining and captivating as WCW, ECW and the WWF battled for supremicy. How approtiate that this pay per view should take place in the same arena the WWF was at the night Shane McMahon announced his purchase of WCW the night the invasion began.Match #1 pitted ECW's Mike Awesome and Lance Storm against the WWF's Edge and Christian. A great tag team opener!Match #2 pitted WCW Senior Referee Nick Patrick against the WWF senior offical Earl "I Can't Count To 3" Hebner with Mick Foley as a guest referee. A boring match but good for a few cheap pops and laughes from Foley.Match #3 pitted WCW's Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo against the WWF's APA. Boring match. Better than the referee's match but not by much.Match #4 pitted WCW Cruiserweight Champion Billy Kidman against the WWF Lightheavyweight Champion X-Pac. Both men put on an excellent match. One the best matches on the card.Match #5 pitted WWF Commissioner William Regal against ECW's Raven. A fairly decent match but nothing to get too excited about.Match #6 pitted WWF's Big Show, Billy Gunn and Albert against WCW's Kanyon, Hugh Morrus and Shawn Stasiak. This match was just thrown in to take up time on the pay per view. But it was a good match.Match #7 pitted ECW's Taz against the WWF's Tajiri. A good match with plenty of stiff kicks from Tajiri and suplexes from Taz. Plus the use of the infamous green mist.Match #8 pitted ECW's Rob Van Dam against the WWF's Jeff Hardy for the WWF Hardcore Championship. This was by far the best match on the card and reason enough to buy the video or dvd. Lots of high flying hardcore mayhem. Plus an insane van-daminator to Jeff Hardy knocking him off the stage!Match #9 pitted WCW's Torrie Wilson and Stacy Kiebler against the WWF's Trish Stratus and Lita in a tag team bra and panties match with Mick Foley as a guest referee (way to go Mick!). Lots of laughes from Foley and eye candy bouncing around the ring. Would have been better earlier on the card though.Match #10 pitted WCW/ECW's Booker T., Diamond Dallas Page, Rhyno and the Dudley Boys against the WWF's Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Kane and The Undertaker. This match was great but several factors could have mad it better. The Rock, could have gotten involved but he was off filming a movie (in mean suspended). Triple H. could have been a great addition to team WCW/ECW seeing how his supposed wife is Stephanie McMahon owner of ECW, but he was injured. The ending was a real shocked since every one expected Jericho to turn WCW/ECW since it was rumored at King of The Ring, but it never happened. The heel turn was given to... If you want to find out you'll just have to buy the dvd.
Gary Ballance Who would have ever thought that wrestlers from WWF, WCW and ECW would join forces for an inter-promotional PPV? The most interesting storyline of recent years unfolded at July 2001's InVasion (originally named Fully Loaded)There were 2 great matches and a good few average ones. A few of the average ones first:APA beat Sean O'Haire & Chuck Palumbo, Earl Hebner beat Nick Patrick (terrible gimmick fisticuffs.), Lita and Trish beat Torrie Wilson & Stacy Keibler, Hugh Morrus, Shawn Stasiak & Chris Kanyon beat Billy Gunn, Albert and Big Show, and Raven beat William Regal.Better than average matches were: Edge & Christian beat Lance Storm & Mike Awesome (Awesome was speared in the middle of delivering a running PowerBomb), Tajiri beat Tazz, and Billy Kidman picked up a win over that punk X-Pac, with a well-delivered Shooting Star Press.Rob Van Dam took on Jeff Hardy in a Hardcore title match, which was outstanding. I have seen WCW before and have been watching WWF for 9 years, but I've never had access to ECW programming. RVD was brilliant, as was Jeff. With ladders, chairs, Swantons and Van Daminators this match was tremendous. RVD won with a Frog Splash. The main event was a 10-man tag: Team Alliance (Booker T, the Dudleyz, Rhyno & DDP) vs Team WWF (Kane, Undertaker, Angle, Jericho and Austin). With ECW/WCW kicking WWF's ass in the weeks leading up to InVasion, Vince pleaded for the return of the old Stone Cold, who did return to lead the WWF troops. It was a spirited contest with the Alliance winning as Austin defected Stunner-ing Angle.A good event with a bit of an ironic ending. The old Stone Cold was the one who turned to the dark side at WrestleMania XVII, and the new guitar-playing, hug-needing Austin was far more loyal. Funny that.
