Reviews

jerry-264 Word Sound and Power was beautifully shot in 1979 in Kingston, Jamaica and had a limited theatrical release, played on USA network twice and was out of circulation for 25 years. Here it returns in DVD form, with excellent image quality, 5.1 surround sound done by acclaimed sound man Jeff Roth, who also produced the DVD. The film is an authentic exploration of Rastafarianism, Roots Reggae music, through the words and music of Jamaican's top studio band, The Soul Syndicate. It is a rare loook into the lives of these musicians who helped form the backbone of studio work for 20 years in Jamaica, as well as a powerful musical documentary. Highly recommended for everyone even remotly interested in Reggae Music.
