If you like the real down to earth Mob story about a great Italian spot to eat in Staten Island, N.Y. and great New York actors who can portray love, kindness, hate and blood shed all in one second, you will love this picture. Mira Sorvino,(Meg Kennedy)"The Final Cut",'04, plays a waitress in this Italian establishment along with Mariah Carey,(Raychel),"State Property",'05, who is seen traveling from lower Manhattan to Staten Island via the Ferry, and viewing the former World Trade Center Bldgs. and the Statue of Liberty. Raychel goes to her aunts home and looks for a job and you can imagine where she winds up. Melora Walters,(Kate),"Cold Mountain",'03 is also a waitress and the three of these gals have to fight off the grabbing of their butts and the pouring of mens hands on their bodies. Lots of blood, gore and bullets bouncing off the walls.

Because it was OVER..........Good lord - the direction has TV movie written all over it and the general absurdity of the whole thing just underlines how dismal this poor effort is.As for the final scene - stunned groaning all round. Not even bad enough to be worth watching for the cheese factor.Mira Sorvino should be doing better work than this :-(( She was very cool in Replacement Killers, so we looked for other movies starring her. Sadly this was one of them.On the other hand - we all applauded at the end too.

To be completely honest, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this movie. In fact everything is perfect. I have no idea why 'Wisegirls' has such low imdb rating. The story is about a girl played by Mira Sorvino who starts working as a waitress in a restaurant run by Mafia. It starts as a drama but ends up in suspense.Mira Sorvino played the role perfectly. Maria Carey and Melora Walters were great too. And the rest of the cast did their job flawlessly.'Wisegirls' is a feel good movie that everyone should see. You won't regret it, guaranteed.10/10

This movie totally kept me in suspense the entire time! I didn't even realize I cried at the end of the movie when they met for their birthdays - TEAR! When this movie was being made, of course there were rumors of "cat-fights" between Mariah Carey and Mira. I didn't see any animosity between them - like "behind" the scenes - which as really good. The other fact that Mariah didn't try to steal the movie or be a "diva" during the movie - I don't want to mention Glitter but this movie was MUCH better than that movie!!! What really got me into tears was the meat factory - I cried for her, I felt her pain and anguish. Mira facial expressions made you feel all the pain her character went through and you could feel that she had met good friends and you believed they would be friends forever..This movie was excellent!
