I have been a regular user of IMDb for many years. In that time I have never seen fit to comment on any aspect of any film - be it good or bad. Roberto Roberti's 'Napoli Che Canta' aka 'While Naples Sleeps' however moves me to pass judgement. Here, Roberti provides us with a most extraordinary feast for the senses. Enchanting images of a bygone era are propelled at us with the momentum of a steam train; each more sumptuous and lavish than the last. All of this is complimented auditorily by the beautiful singing voice of Giuni Russo. The direction is wonderful, the soundtrack unsurpassed. Anybody who has ever doubted that cinema is an expression or art form should try their hardest to obtain a copy of this rare and masterful short film. I assure you it will renew your belief in the power of film.I would have given this film a rating of 8.5 if it were possible.
