Shopaholic35 I genuinely enjoyed What to Expect When You're Expecting and found it to be quite hilarious. The jokes were well timed and it seemed to be outrageously truthful in places and bullsh!t in others. They tried to depict multiple experiences with pregnancy from the very difficult to the "oh it was a breeze". Nobody's perfect yet everyone feels the need to have the perfect experience.I only wish they had explored each character in more detail. They all seemed very shallow below the surface as there were too many individual story lines. You didn't get to see the whole journey for anyone so it left me wanting more.By far the best part of the whole movie was seeing the dad's group hang out. Why does this not happen more often in real life. It's not only a brilliant support system but I'm sure it would be hilarious. Chris Rock stole the scenes for me. The man knows how to be funny.I will definitely give this one a second viewing and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an inappropriate laugh.
SarahRobinson888 Honestly, this film was slightly disappointing. With so many incredible actors and actresses in one film, I expected it to be brilliant and to be laughing all the way through. However, it was just a bit flat. Possibly what went wrong was too many story-lines. I understand that the writers wanted to show every different outcome of pregnancy or child-related changes, however I feel like each character didn't have much depth. I like to really get to know a character and really be involved, however it was difficult to engage with a situation as they flicked through multiple different scenarios. However, it was a nice concept and brought in many different possibilities. And of course, as always, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez looked amazing.
Mary Herrick This movie was exactly what it was titled. "what to expect when you're expecting" really delves into the pregnancy pedantic and shows all the scares and thrills about being pregnant. Miscarriages, risks in giving birth, the troubles and scares of adopting, and the unexpected. most of what could go wrong, did. although I would have liked to see them go into detail on the miscarriage as it causes the most emotional turmoil and often leads to depression. it would have been great if they emphasized on a message instead of a love story.I think Wendy would most likely resemble nearly every women in pregnancy. That whole illusion of pregnancy glow is all an exaggeration. Women don't become more beautiful or glamorous when they get pregnant, the hard reality is women get fat, stretch marks, cankles, an uncontrollable bladder and the worst morning sickness. I think that's why they showed her story line the most. but then, why would they add in Sklyer? A perfect pregnant woman that fits the image of that exact glow? because there are those who do become more beautiful and glamorous, have the most wonderful time during pregnancy and the script writers didn't want to leave that out, because after all it is a show about what to expect when you're expecting.
FlashCallahan Another one of those ensemble movies where everyone is rich, knows someone rich, owns their own food van, fall in love, fall out, have some life changing epiphany during the film and all live happily ever after. That's the film, and it gets spoon fed to you every minute that you tolerate it.From the d-list celeb cameo at the beginning, to the bit where one of the mothers becomes slightly ill for 10 seconds, there is nothing new, exciting, and most importantly, funny about this film. All the stories treat parenthood like its a child's daubing. From the loss of a child, Kendricks character leaves the hospital in just little of over three hours and dumps her boyfriend on the street. Right.Lopez is struggling to have children, so she does a Madonna.........And the film constantly reminds you that reality TV stars and hosts are human too.The only saving grace in this is Quaid, who hasn't got any problems as he's a retired racer who is brimming with cash.I cannot think of any demographic that this film is trying to reach out to, its trying to reach out to everybody ala Richard Curtis, but fails on every level.
