I read the other reviews and decided to watch the movie.Cliché characters and obvious movie sets. The movie seemed like it was mostly written using a story software program that filled everything in. As a frame of reference for my mindset. Ginger Snaps was OK and as far as I'm willing to go with the entertainment industry. A better movie is Cursed 2005.This movie seemed to have more money than Ginger Snaps; sadly it didn't have anything else. For example, a good story, or even at least mediocre casting or directingA better investment of your time would be either a good movie you have already seen or watch a blank screen for the length of the this movie.

A band of werewolf hunters are moving along the countryside looking for work. One ravaged village hires them to rid them of a terrible super beast that has the ability to kill under any moon. A local man named Daniel (Wilson) convinces the hunters that he is valuable and joins them. A somewhat silly but entertaining werewolf film from Universal Studios no less has nothing to do with the remake of "The Wolfman" but sets itself up like a comic book movie. The hunters are the heroes the werewolves the villain's. There are way too many subplots that are introduced which lead to some predictable twists at the end which are disappointing. By the midpoint of the movie you will be able to guess which character is the super werewolf. To his credit, Director Louis Morneau knows what he has on his hands, which is a super gory monster movie and he makes it entertaining and gory. Body parts and pieces of corpses are literally spread all around this village and the movie has blood spurting everywhere. Gore fans will enjoy and all though some of the digital effects are cheesy and poor looking the action and gore flies throughout. The solid cast helps quite a bit. If you are in the mood for a gory fast paced werewolf film that doesn't take itself very seriously this could be for you.

I actually enjoyed this movie, quite a bit. Sure, some things were lacking, but nothing is perfect. There's parts, like the others said, that are a little fuzzy - it's supposed to be set in a certain era, but there's parts of it that are obviously very modern - which I'll leave for you to find for yourself. There was also quite a bit of mutilated bodies and enough gore that it stood up to its genre - without being too over-the-top.The thing that made the movie for me was the fact that it had so many twists, and until the "click" came along (the sudden understanding), I was constantly guessing - also - the ending is quite marvellous - I was thrilled. It doesn't leave you with the let-down feeling that 90% of modern Werewolf movies tend to do - this is MUCH better than its rating suggests. So, yeah. For not being another let down as so many werewolf movies are - 9.

It is so difficult to list the names of ten half decent werewolf films. Its a genre which is grossly under explored. We, the fans of this genre are still waiting for that ONE defining werewolf movie, our STAR WARS ! Getting back to the movie, it is a pretty decent one compared to those multi million trash we seen being churned out regularly, and yes please don't mention the g*dawful Twilight dirt. There are historical blunders in this movie but if you are able to overlook them, you get a decent tale of a werewolf hunting down people in a village, who in turn hire a group of hunters to hunt it down. It has a few decent twists. In total, a so - so movie but much much better than the usual Hollywood "blockbuster" trash.
