mz_sahito123 I voted it 1 because there is no less rating than ONE available on IMDb. The story line is ineffective and very boring in its own origin. Making no sense at all, this film just suggests how persistent India is on trying to prove Pakistan as a Terrorist Country and a NO GO area for the citizens of the World. What is shameful is the fact that despite knowing the entire track of the movies, Many Pakistani artists decided to take part in this conspiracy. In short this is not worth watching, It is neither funny nor close to anything like Reality. Pakistan is making much more sensible movies these days, Rush to wath'em in cinemas near your house. This Movie is only a shameful act of trying to get World audience against Pakistan. If you want to know real Karachi, Visit it. P.S with your full legal documents :D Off-course .
a_nandkeolyar This is not a run of the mill comedy with below the belt humor or slapstick, its very eccentric and cerebral humor - good and pure fun. More of a parody. The plot and story are very creative and quite original and the movie does not bad-mouth any community/country - just a parody of the many situations in South Asia. The screenplay was very intelligent taking into account the 'International scenario' and 'International relations'. If you go to the theater expecting slapstick comedy or a formula driven love story - this is not for you. But, if you want to watch an original parody and laugh at some incredibly comic scenes - this is for you.
aparna-79549 Loved this movie, because it was very different from the run of the mill comedies that have slapstick humor and below the belt jokes. It was very 'decent' and hilarious. The second half was funnier than the first. Very creative story. Great acting by Arshad Warsi and Jacky Bhagnani. If you love to laugh and would like to watch a 'non-formula' movie - this is for you. The scenes during a cricket-match, in the courtroom, in an American prison etc. were very funny. Also, this movie was all about fun and showed no disrespect to anyone. Should have more movies like this one, with no run of the mill love stories, songs, violence and slapstick. It was original and fresh.
Tejas Nair I will get straight to the point and save you time by explaining (and hopefully convincing) why you should skip Welcome 2 Karachi for life. The story about two Indian idiots, Kedar (Bhagnani) and Shammi (Warsi) trying to go to America through seaways using a motor boat and, instead landing in Pakistan sounds like an ideal base for a satire. However, the film starts, fools around, and ends with absurdity as its main and the only ingredient. Since it is a satire one does not pay attention to the story. But to depend on extremely unpleasant jokes and cooked-up situations is like depending on the US to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan. The performances are not pleasant either. Bhagnani acts pure dumb, but then he does not put much effort into it as acting dumb comes naturally to him. Although, he does play the comedian if we compare him with the lunar eclipse Warsi, who looks dull after his long hiatus from the screen. Gottlieb cannot act, nor can she deliver her dialogs properly. She should stick to brain-numbing dancing. All said and done, one will enjoy only few chuckles that are caused by random comic situations, which are, for your information, only present in the first half. The second half is worse than Roy (2015) and Kuch Kuch Locha Hai (2015) put together. Plus, I could also sense some exaggeration regarding the depiction of the Pakistani life. Clearly, Pakistan as a country is not as bad as the film showcases it to be.BOTTOM LINE: Welcome 2 Karachi is a satire film which takes it audience on a 2-hour long ride so that it can show how it is NOT a satire film. Skip for life.RATING: 1 star out of 10.Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES
