As the title indicates, you're in for a creepy treat! Bloody hell, this was scary! The scares start off subtle yet highly effective. It gave me gooseflesh more often than not! The very natural acting from a veteran cast ensures credibility. The music was effective, as well, and the visuals were utterly stunning. The scares are so effective without the help of overbearing music. In fact, at times there are no music at all and it was terrifying! 'We are still here' will no doubt go down as a classic!

Looks good, but the reveal is far too early.I was really enjoying the creepy start to this, but it's reveal is far too early, unfortunately. I was so impressed by part of the reveal, but so disappointed at it's timing, that I turned it off. It looked great though, and had great acting, I just lost interest. You may feel this is unfair, but I've seen enough really good horrors to know which ones I should finish. Now, I'm just filling up the space so that I publish my review. You can stop reading now. Here are some of my favourite horrors: The Orphanage, House of the Devil, Creep, Halloween.

In the wake of their son's fatal car collision, Anne and Paul Sachetti move to a new home in rural New England (upstate New York). Upon meeting the people of the nearby town, they soon learn that their new home has a dark past.We Are Still Here is one of those recent horror movies like You're Next and House of the Devil that has a real love for the genre. It's gory, it's creepy, it's set in the 70's (very important for some reason), and it has horror star power. Barbara Crampton, who plays Anne, is well known for playing Megan in Re-Animator. Larry Fessenden, who plays Jacob, is an indie-horror standard-bearer and also the producer of Stake Land.Watched on Vudu

The best part about this movie apart from the creepy atmosphere and the beautiful ice-covered New England scenery is it's unpredictably n sudden change of pace. Really awesome cinematography by Karim Hussain (Hobo with a shotgun, Antiviral, ABCs of death). There's also a lot of very over the top but well executed supernatural violence/gore. Some awesome visual effects. It has drama, atmosphere and suspense, keeping a serious tone and setting. One thing that sets this film apart from many others is that the main characters are middle-aged and that it suddenly changed from a slow atmospheric movie into over the top fantastic gory splatter movie. The special effects are pretty well thought out and executed. There are elements that pull from classic horrors in a very good n entertaining way. Themes and motifs from popular horror films such as The Shining, The Amityville Horror, The Fog n House by the cemetery r visible. It can be called a remake of House by the cemetery. Great job from a first time film maker Ted Geoghegan. So many horror veterans in one film. Barbara Crampton (From beyond, Re- animator, lords of salem, tales of halloween, you'r next). Lisa Marie (Sleepy hollow, tales of halloween, Lords of salem, silent night). Andrew Sensenig (don't look in the basement 2, kill or be killed, Dylan dog, nine dead). Larry Fessenden ( session 9, late phases, we r what we r, jug face, u r next, stake land, mulberry street, session 9). Ted Geoghegan pays loving tribute to Lucio Fulci. Was really getting annoyed n tired with the recent pg-13 ghost movies.
