SlyGuy21 1st Match: Dustin Rhodes vs The Blacktop Bully, King of the Road match. As infamous as the internet has made this match out to be, it wasn't that bad. Yeah, it was hard to follow, because they were on a moving vehicle, and hella dangerous to boot, but I thought it was just "meh". Had they just done a match in the ring, there probably would've been more to this. Rating: 2/5 2nd Match: Meng vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Martial Arts match. This is where my eyes stat getting heavy, drawn out comedy matches like this are just not fun at all. I started getting Survivor Series '94 PTSD from this. I can't even say anything about the match itself, there's that little to it. Rating: 1/5 3rd Match: Johnny B. Badd vs Arn Anderson, Boxer vs Wrestler match. Again, not much to this. There's a reason why boxing and wrestling are like oil and water. I actually blacked out for like 5 minutes during this, so I missed the ending, but given how "exciting" the show's been up to this point, can you really blame me? Rating: 1.5/5 4th Match: Randy Savage vs Avalanche. I fell asleep before this match started, so I don't remember anything about it. It's unfair for me to give this a rating without seeing it, so I just won't count it towards the rest of the show's rating. Rating: None 5th Match: Sting vs "Totally Not Big Bossman". So after a ten minute power nap, we finally get into the good matches of the show. I think there's some good moments here. Sting dominates the first part until he injuries his leg and Bossman takes control. Sting does a good job selling, and Bossman winning was a surprise for me. A good match overall. Rating: 3.5/5 6th Match: The Nasty Boys vs Harlem Heat, Falls Count Anywhere Tornado Tag match. I don't know why this isn't for the tag titles, you think it would be. A brawl through and through, with some pretty hilarious moments. The match just devolves into insanity when they enter the totally random concession area and food starts flyin' everywhere. The Nasty Boys might not be the best wrestlers, but they really do shine in brawls like this. The only real negative I have aside from the tag titles not being up for grabs is that the pin happens off camera. At least they show the pin in a replay. Rating: 4.5/5 7th Match: Hulk Hogan vs Vader, Leather Strap match for the WCW Heavyweight Championship. One of the more entertaining strap matches I've seen, because there's a constant pace to it. The match eventually goes off the rails into chaos, but the crowd's into it, and I found it entertaining. Rating: 3.5/5 Final Rating: 5 out of 10. The second half of this show was way better than the first, you just have to wade through a swamp to get to the good parts. This probably won't top my "Worst PPV of 1995" list though, solely because I fell asleep and didn't count Savage's match towards the final rating.
callanvass Live from Tupelo, MississippiAttendance 5,782Your commentators are Tony Schiavone & Bobby HeenanKing of the Road MatchBlacktop Bully Vs Dustin Rhodes.Blacktop Bully is Smash of Demolition. This is basically two people wrestling in the back of a moving truck filled with protective cages and hay in it. The Blacktop Bully wins. This was absolutely laughable. Who ever came up with this really needs to have his/her head examined. It was boring beyond belief and extremely dangerous. Trust me, it's not as cool as it sounds.DUDMartial Arts MatchMeng (W/Col. Parker) Vs 'Hacksaw' Jim DugganMeng wins. This was painfully bad to watch. Meng didn't sell a single move from Duggan. He was virtually invincible. As much as Duggan annoys me, Meng no-selling everything annoyed me more. It reminds me of the BS Brock Lesnar pulls in his matches, indestructible.½* out of 5Boxer Vs WrestlerArn Anderson (W/Col. Parker) Vs Johnny B. BaddYou can win by pinfall or boxing rules. Johnny B. Badd wins by knockout. What a total misfire this was. The match was doomed to begin with. Boxing rarely works in wrestling, and there is a reason for it. I felt sorry for Arn Anderson for having to participate in this.N/R'Macho Man' Randy Savage Vs AvalancheSavage wins by DQ after Ric Flair (Dressed up as a drag woman) attacks Savage. Hulk Hogan runs out and makes the save. This was another match that was hard to watch. Savage did the best he could, but even he couldn't get a good match out of Avalanche (Earthquake) Terrible stuff all around.* out of 5Anything GoesSting Vs Big Bubba RogersBig Bubba wins. This match had some good psychology. Sting did a really good job of selling the leg, but it was rather boring. None of the excitement was ever fully sustained. Sadly, this has been the best match of the show so far.*1/2 out of 5Texas Tornado MatchHarlem Heat (C) (W/Sister Sherri) Vs The Nasty BoysThe Nasty Boys win. This was actually entertaining to watch. Usually, I hate it when these two wrestle each other, but this match played to their strengths. The Falls Count Anywhere scenario worked perfectly here. It was fun to watch Sherri bump all over the place as well.**1/2 out of 5Strap MatchHulk Hogan (W/The Renegade) Vs Vader (W/Ric Flair)The ending is an absolute mind f****! Hogan drags Ric Flair to all four corners and apparently wins the match, even though he had to drag Vader. Randy Savage kidnaps Arn Anderson to fool Vader and Ric Flair. This was a poor main event. Did you really think it was gonna be anything else with what I described above? Hogan dominated most of the match. Thank god this PPV is over. I'm tempted to give this a one, but the entertaining Texas Tornado match brings it up a notch. Unless you're a masochist, stay far away from this one. Almost everything about it is dreadful. It's one of the worst PPV's in history.2/10
amanwhorocks 1. King of the Road Match: BlackTop Bully Vs. Dustin Rhodes - WTF? Instead wrestling we look at the boring brawling between bales of straw? Original? Maybe. Entertaining? No way. 3/10 2. Martial Arts Match: Meng Vs. Insulting Hacksaw Jim Duggan - One weak match. Hacksaw did himself a clown before the match even start. Cannot handle to sell Meng's moves. Everything wrong 3.5/10 Silly sketch with Anderson. I can't help myself, but when he does that thing with thumb below the neck he looks like he fill his Pampers trunks with some load.3. Boxer Vs. Wrestler match Johnny B.Badd Vs. Arn Anderson - Great idea, boxing match. Crowd was bored to the bone. Best part of that match was final ring bell. 4/10 4. Macho Man Vs. Avalanche - Average match ended with DQ. no matter that we have no DQ match, OMG. 4/10 5. Sting Vs. Big Stiffa - Lol,when Big Bubba fall by himself from top rope, super stiff. And the greatest LOL, they booked this non-wrestler to beat Sting clearly. This is wrong in all the way. Worst result of the evening. 2/10 6. Texas Tornado match: Harlem Heat Vs. Nasty Boys - Funniest part, when they slided on spilled soda. 6/10 7. Strap match: Vader Vs. Champ-Hogan - This match was pure sh*t. Limited moves, only punches and when Vader did chokeslam, we've got Christmas. Poor match with no ending, but wit saving Macho Man 2/10 Terrible, terrible PPV. Hogan won over Vader by dragging Ric Flair?? WTF?? DQ in no DQ match (Savage Vs. Tenta)?? Rogers pinned Sting? Who's that idiot who booked that piece of s... . Worst WCW PPV from early 90s. Really. Only 1 match was normal. (tag team match)
