amanwhorocks 1. WCW Cruiserweight Title Triangle Match: Juventud Guerrera Vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. Vs. Champ-Billy Kidman - Pure HQ match. These 3 guys should be in Hall of Fame. Kidman won in a match full of reverses. 10/10 2. WCW Cruiserweight Title Match: Champ-Kidman Vs. Eddy Guerrero 8.5/10 3. Norman Smiley Vs. Prince Iaukea - A little bit technical match and stupid crowd chanted: "Boring". 8/10 4. The Cat Vs. Perry Saturn - Cat is unbearable moron. Problem of WCW, their heels are just ugly and intolerable. Match wasn't great, but I give 2 extra points for Saturn's victory over Miller. 8/105. Brian Adams/Scott Norton Vs. Jerry Flynn/Fit Finlay - They did some good power moves, but crowd was almost dead. Where aren't face wrestlers... 7/10 6. WCW Television Title Match: Chris Jericho Vs. Konnan - FUC!!! GO TO HELL WITH KONNAN'S MUSIC VIDEO. That bullshit on PPV? This was one of the biggest booking mistakes WCW ever did. How could book Mr. Proper, Mr. no wrestling skills, Mr. Stiff - Konnan to win over Jericho. Minus points and big FU*K YOU to WCW. -5/10 7. Ric Flair Vs. Eric Bischoff - Funny that Bischoff is better wrestler than Nash and Hogan together. The other Nitro Flair won the Presidency of WCW. 6.5/108. Giant Vs. Diamond Dallas Page - One of the best matches of Giant. The finishing cover of Chokeslam from turnbuckle into Diamond Cutter reminds me Sting's cover into Scorpion Death Drop. 9/10 9. WCW World Heavyweight Title match: Kevin "Big booker" Nash Vs. Champ-Goldberg - Now that's it. That is the match that led WCW into oblivion. Nash as Booker, ordinate himself: winning of World War 3, ending Wrat's winning streak, end Goldberg's winning streak and becoming a new champ. Great Idea. Wow, You're the best Kevin, thank you again for ruining the WCW. Match wasn't so bad. 6/10
MovieCriticMarvelfan "Starrcade 98" one of the most remembered, but ultimately controversial and somewhat hated ppvs. Man what was WCW thinking? Allow me to explain.Bill Goldberg went 170 I believe and was the first UNDEFEATED man in wrestling history to first gain the WCW/NWA US Title from Raven following a victory at Spring Stampede 98 over Perry Saturn. He then earned a title shot in WCW Nitro after beating Scott Hall and then faced Hollywood Hogan in what really was a no contest to become the first undefeated man to win the WCW WORLD TITLE!!! WCW for almost a full year rode the Golberg bandwagon and it worked, they were dominating the ratings and dominating the WWF, all of a sudden someone got the stupid idea to end it all here at Starrcade 98. Who was it? Eric Bishoff or was it the politics of WCW front office like the WWF to screw its wrestlers after the company profited of them? Maybe.Well here are the matches, they were actually all excellent don't let that low rating here on IMDb fool you, I am guessing that low rating comes from what I just said about the Goldberg match.WCW Cruiserweight Title match.Rey Misterio Jr. vs. Juventud Guerrera vs. Kidman.Great match, this was when WCW still had a great Latino audience and the cruiserweights were a example of luchador wrestling. 10 out 10 for this match and as added bonus Eddie Guerrero challenges the winner, so we get a bonus match.Konnan vs. Jericho for TV title. This was or should is when Jericho shoots his mouth on the ring. A good match, semi interesting.Brian Adams +Scott Norton vs. Jerry Flynn + Fit Finlay. Eh somewhat interesting match involving the NWO, the ending was never in doubt. Scott Norton look like he used enough steroids toknock of bear. Norman Smiley vs. Prince Iaukea. Eh probably the only lame match on the ppv.Perry Saturn vs. The Cat. This was good. The Cat comes out and tries to intimidate Saturn by saying "The Cat" is gonna whoop his ass, but looking at physiques its obvious Saturn had a big edge. Ending is pretty obvious.Eric Bishoff vs. Ric Flar. Whooo!! Well here we have a rare match with Bishoff when he was still running the NWO. After several humiliating incidents with Bishoff, embarrassing referees and Flair's family it came down to this. Good match. Flair beats up Eric, who has no wrestling body at all. Hes a weakling. However the NWO comes to bail him and well you can guess how it ends.Diamond Dallas Page vs. The Giant. This comes of the heels of a rivalry between Page and Bret Hart, who together with the Giant, gave Page a serious beating, culminating with Page being chokeslam of a podium.Hart makes a surprise appearance in the match. Good match. Now the main event Golberg (Champ) vs. Kevin Nash.Well after beating the heck out of Scott Hall this was Goldberg attempt to knock the other Outsider. Both men prove their equals, but its obvious Goldberg, wrestling and strenght wise, outmatch Nash.(SPOILERS) Enter Bam Bam Bigelow trying to interfere in the match, but gets rewarded with a spear from Goldberg. Then Scott Hall the coward he is, comes in dressed as a security person and shocks Golderg with a tazer. Nash takes advantages and steals the title from Goldberg. A really cheap victory, probably the cheapest of Nash's career and this ends the Goldberg run for WCW, which again was the dumbest move WCW made. It's like when the WWF rode Bret Hart after Hogan left and then screwing Bret Hart who went to WCW and revived the ratings there. After this, WCW started to go a bit downhill, they eventually came back up and title changed hands, but this hurt WCW though, I am sure Bishoff and company would have liked to changed the outcome looking back but it still lucky for them wasn't the end for WCW not until 2001
