1st Match: Eddie Guerrero vs Dean Malenko, WCW Cruiserweight Championship. You'd expect a match between these two to be a fantastic opener, the problem is that it never quite gets there. Eddie works Malenko's legs, and before Dean can make a comeback, the match ends rather abruptly. It had it's moments for sure, but could've been way better. Rating: 3.5/52nd Match: Big Bossman and The Steiners vs Vincent, Scott Norton, and Randy Savage. Nash isn't here for some reason, so Scott Hall gets destroyed by Big Show instead. Afterwards, we have this by-the-numbers match. Savage and the Steiners are fine, the rest are nothing. It feels like a match that was made to replace another match, OK for what it is, but not much else. Rating: 3/53rd Match: Goldberg vs Steve McMichael. This was before Goldberg's dominance really began, so it's drawn out a little. There's an OK spot through a table, but nothing really special. Rating: 2.5/54th Match: Chris Benoit vs Perry Saturn, No DQ match. Again, you'd think these two would have a good match, especially Benoit. Nope. After Benoit fails a soliloquy (he never was the best at promos), Raven's flock interferes throughout the whole match. Benoit shines in some spots, but this is just a glorified squash. Rating: 2/55th Match: Lex Luger vs Buff Bagwell. The show is literally decaying in quality before my eyes here. This match is boring, neither guy can wrestle, and it goes on for 16 minutes. Neither of them are over either, so the whole match is a waste. Also, typical nWo cheating to win doesn't help Bagwell at all, not like he was a threat anyway. Rating: 1.5/56th Match: DDP vs Curt Hennig, WCW US Heavyweight Championship. Aside from the opener, this is the only match worth your time, quality-wise. Page is super over, and even though Hennig phones it in for the 80th match in a row, DDP carries him well. also DDP wins, which is a feel good moment. Rating: 3.5/57th Match: Eric Bischoff vs Larry Zbyszko, Winner gets control of Monday Nitro with Bret Hart as the referee. So Bret, fresh off of getting screwed by the WWF, is of course put in a referee position here. The commentators try and act like Bret could be with the nWo, but doing so would hurt him more than anything during his debut, so he's not. He helps Larry win in the end, and even though Bischoff's tactics are pretty funny, the match should've been way more enjoyable than this. Rating: 2.5/58th Match: Sting vs Hollywood Hogan, WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Time for a history lesson folks. This has been built up for over a year, Sting has not wrestled in over a year, and Hogan has been cheating to win for over a year. Nick Patrick is the referee, even though he hasn't sided with the nWo on PPV for months now. The crowd hates Hogan, the crowd loves Sting. This should've been the easiest match in the world, just have Sting win the title. It didn't have to be a squash or anything like that, but a good back and forth match, with the face prevailing would've been enough. WCW was beating WWF to a pulp in ratings, and their audience would've sat through a terrible PPV just to see this match. So what the hell went wrong? Many things. Hogan wins clean, not a problem, until you realize that the refs count was suppose to be fast, it wasn't. Bret KOs Patrick, and screws Hogan out of a clean win, thus making Sting the champion. Everyone loses here. Hogan's the heel, yet wins clean and gets screwed. Bret's a face, yet screws the champ out of a clean win. Sting's character has been built up for over a year, only for him to lose clean to a guy with less moves than him, thus killing his persona. WCW had one job here, and they couldn't help but overbook the match to hell for the sake of controversy. So who's fault is it? Hogan's? Patrick's? Bret's? Sting's? It doesn't matter, because the company's bankrupt. The match itself is actually OK I think, the ending is just a mess and screws up over a year of build-up. It's an easy punching bag for people online, but there were some parts I liked. It had the crowd involved, both guys did well with face and heel work, it wasn't boring, the ending just kills it. A year and a half of build-up for a match that's just OK. Rating: 2.5/5Final Rating: 5 out of 10. The show decays in quality except for a couple matches, and the main event is often looked at as the beginning of the end for WCW. This was a decent match that should have been a lot better. It moved a little slowly at times and I know what these two are capable of. Obviously, it was fairly entertaining, but this wasn't their best night.**3/4 out of 5Kevin Nash has no-showed apparently against The Giant. Scott Hall confirms that Kevin Nash won't be here tonight. Hall tries to battle The Giant, but The Giant kicks his ass and powerbombs him. Was Nash afraid of jobbing or something? Knowing his political BS back then, I wouldn't be surprised. I like Nash, but I'm just being honest.The Steiner Brothers & Ray Traylor Vs Randy Savage, Vincent & Scott NortonSavage is being so wasted here. Savage gets the pin for the heel team by pinning Scott Steiner. Better than I expected, but that isn't saying much. I was only half-paying attention.** out of 5Goldberg Vs Steve McMichaelGoldberg wins with a Jackhammer. This was TERRIBLE! It was almost unwatchable and extremely plodding. McMichael is a joke and Goldberg, as charismatic as he is, can't carry McMichael. Awful, awful stuff.3/4* out of 5Chris Beniot Vs SaturnRaven chickens out for the 80th time. Saturn wins after Raven and Van Hammer cost Benoit the match. Benoit fights them off valiantly, but succumbs to defeat. This was an OK match. It had its moments and Benoit looked like a world beater at times. It just makes people wanna see Benoit get his hands on Raven that much more. **1/4 out of 5Buff Bagwell Vs Lex LugerBagwell wins, thanks to help from the nWo. This was an overbooked mess. The win does NOTHING for Bagwell. He looks extremely weak in victory. Not that I care, because I always thought Bagwell sucked. Boring and overbooked overall.* out of 5United States TitleCurt Hennig (C) Vs DDPDDP wins the title with the Diamond Cutter. This was a pretty mediocre match that picked up a little bit near the end. If Hennig was in his prime, this match would have been killer. That aside, DDP winning the title is a great feel good moment for the original People's Champion.*3/4 out of 5Winner gets NitroLarry Zbyszko Vs Eric BischoffBret Hart is the special referee. Zbyszko wins after stops Bischoff from cheating and puts the sharpshooter on Scott Hall. This could have been a disaster, but it was very well booked. Bret Hart's ambiguity was perfect and made you wonder whose side he really was on. The fans went bonkers after Bret beat up Bischoff and Hall. Bret could have been HUGE in WCW. What a shame. It started off so well.Not Rated.World Heavyweight Title'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan (C) Vs StingHogan pins Sting clean 1,2,3.... Yes, seriously. No shenanigans, nothing. Inexplicably, Bret Hart punches Nick Patrick and restarts the match as referee. Sting puts Hogan in the Scorpion Deathlock and Sting wins the title. The WCW wrestlers surround Sting and hoist him on their shoulders. This is one of the biggest letdowns in wrestling history. After almost TWO YEARS of buildup and amazing storytelling, this is the bullshi***** we get? This was the start of WCW's downfall. Sting's "moral" victory doesn't change that he got his ass whipped by Hogan and pinned clean. Everything else feels tacked on. It's very much like Luger's "moral" win at Summerslam 93 over Yokozuna. Terrible match in general and one of the most angry times to be a wrestling fan. What a crock of sh***** out of 5This was one of the most anticipated PPV's in wrestling history. It had the chance to put WCW over the top. They blew it big time. I don't know if it was egos, stupid booking, or what not. The brilliant booking of Sting was ruined this very night. Almost two years for nothing. Bret looked cool and all, but they'd ruin him soon as well. 3/10

Champs-The Steiner Brothers/Ray Traylor - Upset, savage beat Scott Steiner I can't remember if I saw these two wrestling against each other some when. 8/103. Bill Goldberg Vs. Steve McMichael - Mongo lost in big way, almost no offense. His career in WCW fall down unlike Goldberg. Match was minor. 6.5/10 4. Saturn Vs. Chris Benoit - I like both of them. Saturn won with help by Raven's Flock 8/10 5. Buff Bagwell Vs. Lex Luger - Totally uninteresting match. Buff cheaply won. 5/10 6. WCW U.S. Heavyweight Title Match: Diamond Dallas Page Vs. Champ-Curt Hennig - New U.S. Champ DDP. Fine Match, clean victory. 8.5/10 7. Eric Bischoff Vs. Larry Zbyszko - No contest "Legend "Match. About nothing. 6/10 8. WCW World Heavyweight Title Match: Champ-Hulk Hogan Vs. Sting - You know that match, maybe the greatest promotion of all time and Sting couldn't look weaker. ?/10 And that's beginning of the end of WCW, folks!!!
