Rahul Sharma Waar has been one of the most anticipated movies of Pakistani cinema. The right cast a fresh director and above all a very high class technical staff to support it. i like its music...songs are placed well..which are matches the situation ..A Strong Plot,Some Top-Notch Acting and the Best Music Score ever in a Pakistani movie,It totally delivers what was promised in the trailer. For a Pakistani movie, this is extremely good and everyone will surely enjoy it.Great job by the whole team, especially Shaan, you have proved that Pakistan can come out of watching dumb downed action movies.I'm looking forward to your next project.Extremely well job for someone so young and talented. It was worth the watch....................................waiting for the next movie...my rating for this movie is 8.5/10
Ben Castle The basic idea had potential but was executed in an unsophisticated manner. it was a lost opportunity to expose the social and political complexities of war on terrorism in Pakistan. Instead the movie took an easy road and packed the entire runtime of 130 minutes with all sorts of clichés. The superficial character development in the movie is painful to watch. Even more painful is the childish interactions between the characters. For example, the so-called accomplished secret service agent Javeria has no problem acting in a silly girls- hate- boys manner when Mujtaba is brought on aboard. Then in another scene she abruptly (but predictably) develops a crush on him. She starts asking him personal questions and acting as he is an old pal saying "I am there for you if you want to talk."More importantly, the movie evades bringing any depth to the main subject of terrorism. It tackles the grave problem Pakistan faces in a feel-good, black-and-white manner. To make matters worse, the storyline lacks any specificity or technical depth. It appears that instead of doing any serious research, the writer sufficed to use details in a newspaper, about some key incidents, as his main storyline. There is no sophistication, complexity or specificity about any aspect of the movie whatsoever. In fact, the movie is full of illogical events and actions. A spy who kills anything that crosses his path instead of keeping a low profile, a chemical bomb that can destroy an area of 10 km, moula- jut style dialogues during deadly confrontations, a loud cheesy patriotic sermon during a covert operation at night and a dam that is built within few months (puff …just like that, out of one's left foot.) My husband said "it sounds like a communist propaganda movie. Even enemies are speaking highly of Pakistan." He also could not understand that in various scenes if someone would take a gun away from his opponent, why then he would place the gun on the table for easy grabs. In short the movie uses cheap sentimentalism to make big bucks. The movie is a big glob of cheese with no artistic or technical depth.See my detailed analysis here: https://eyeofgaia.wordpress.com/2015/04/30/waar-uqal-per-meri/
Dave Kimber Let me start by saying this why do people keep bringing this up 'best Pakistani film' etc? Waar puts many Hollywood films to shame specially the junk that has been produced over there in recent times. How on earth can someone in the right state of mind can even begin to compare this masterpiece to other mega-productions that massively fail to impress & lack the essence of film making.Don't get me wrong there are obviously some really good Hollywood productions that I can watch over & over again & waar goes right up there in my top 10 best movies of all time list, which is quite a statement. I have seen them all from sin city to sexy beast, from 300 to shawshank redemption as well as the original old boy. This stunner & absolutely quality production deserves a place right up there with the well deserving titles.Well done to all that were involved in the making of this masterpiece, incredible & breath-taking film making at its best! Learn from it this is how movies are made. A well deserving 10/10!! If you haven't seen this masterpiece yet do yourself a favour stop what you are doing & watch it, even if you have to watch it on a DVD, Enjoy!
aurangzab2005 Well as i ve seen the movie twice in cinema & multiple times in mobile & PCs, i finally decided to give my reviews regarding WAAR. After a long long time, we see a movie in Pakistan that has attracted a multitude of viewers all around the country. The cinematography and special effects are something rare in Pakistan. Shan is no doubt currently the best actor in Pakistan film industry and he has proved his skills in the film with utmost maturity. Hamza Ali Abbassi, the face in the cinema has shown astonishing dialouge delivery & an ATS skills. Shamoon played a real bad ass without a sense of pity. Director Bilal Lashari, who studied film-making in California, says: "There was just no question, even if people were telling me: 'How can you do without them?'.From cinematography to style of acting, it is different from what has gone before.. Everyone here has been following Bollywood but the best we can ever come up with is going to be a B grade knock off. We need to create our own identity" & hell yeah he did!!For audiences here, it is going to be a complete 180 degree shift. From cinematography to style of acting, it is different from what has gone before." There is story, special effects, action scenes, performance, direction and so on that decide the fate of a film. Judging on these pure cinema related merits, the movie is a wonderful of especially keeping in mind the plight of film making in Pakistan. This was breath of fresh air for Pakistani audience who were rightly disappointed and had ceased to go to the theatres. As A Whole Waar Is A Brilliantly Made Action Packed Big Budget Patriotic Pakistani Feature Film Which Leaves You With Just A Single Word "WOW". A Worthy Must Watch.
