crberme Valhalla Rising is a movie that I would describe as "weird but haunting". At the first half I was thinking that maybe it wasn't a movie that I would enjoy, but I still stayed because I was expecting the overall film to be something great, and it is.The first thing that got me was one-eye. The performance of this main character, the way he expresses without speaking or even move is something difficult to do right, and yet he does. The plot is also very implicit, and forces you to think, to suppose, to seek for a clue to really understand what's going on, and here it's really satisfying because it works so well here.Something that I don't like so much is the special effects. There are few, since this movie takes a kind of minimalistic approach when it comes to frame and movement, but the few that are there are really unrealistic, to the point of almost make you laugh. It compensates with the good things this movie has, but I have the philosophy that if you can't make it right, just don't do it. And that could've been applied here.Something that also got my attention while watching it is that this is a very quiet movie. Few conversations and few background music make this film have it's own vibe. Makes you feel the environment in a way you couldn't it the movie used more noise, a soundtrack or anything of the kind. So, Is this movie for everyone? No. Is this movie awesome? I think so. I encourage you to watch it if you're not sure, you'll probably like it.
Carlos Fiorelli I bought this trash DVD thinking it would be a film about Vikings, Valhalla, Middle Ages, Historical Legends, etc. Forget this trash! There's nothing more, just a bunch of false 'artists' with dirty clothes, rolling in the mud! There is no dialogue, no script, and the worst 'soundtrack' from the planet, if it can be called music. The 'director' of this 'film' should be sentenced to life imprisonment, but first return the money to those who bought their junk movie. For the first time in my life, after watching this aberration, I literally bent and broken a DVD into several pieces and threw it in the latrine.90 minutes lost in my life, seeing the worst crap on Earth! Cursed be!
alfjmrodrigues One of the most depressive movies I have ever seen. What a waste of time!Lack of dialogues, mostly hate and blood, no really story. What can you get to your life from a movie which is mainly suffering and sadness?Nothing really to learn here, folks.
Alexander My goodness, what an experience. I didn't know what to expect when i got around to finally see the movie. Mads Mikkelsen is a great actor, so i decided its worth a watch.I was kind of blown away by the movie. The start gets you really intrigued and even though its diresome to watch, you just keep sitting there and wondering what will happen. Its dark, brutal, Mads Mikkelsen is amazing in this movie and whats most interesting: Very little dialogue and no music. Its a very philosophical film, about the humans relationship to religion and the core existence. Its feels like Thomas Hobbes is writing a film, with its own twist. To wrap it up : The movie takes you through the hell of humanity in its natural existing state, a very strange movie, but it leaves you thinking. I recommend watching it alone, you will need to process this one for a while. Why I'm not rating it a 10/10 is because the watching experience, while interesting, is very painful. Don't get me wrong, it helps the film in its tone, but its one of those you probably watch once.So give it a watch.7/10
