hilal_beskar It is so satisfying to see that all the cities around the world found new adaptations for the urban issues because every city is unique. So their urban living should be effected by different people and cultures. And sometimes modern technical solutions for the city plan can create even more chaotic environments. Because usually communication between people is forgotten or ignored. Documentary shows us that best solutions come from insiders who live in there.
yareckey Well as someone has already written - it's a must for local politics, planners and architects but what I would like to add -> for every city person! This is a movie that in my opinion shows us a very important message = Your vote counts You just have to have it :-) After watching this I've started looking for other movies/ materials on this topic and I think I am ready to ACT :-) We the people are mostly only watchers well sometimes even thinkers but what is missing - we don't act while this exactly what we should do. I hope this idea/knowledge will be widely spread and will help to change the way we think and act :-) Would love o hear opinions from others if You would like to discuss it Let's meet on FB
rafaelbrm That documentary really shows what we as humans must imagine a better city to live, both in downtown and periphery. we had committed many mistakes on the past, the legacy of XX century had shown us how we should and should not build our cities environmentsFor example, we now know that public spaces must take in account people lives first, instead of just cars and big shopping malls. Brasilia was a big mistake on that point, it was a perfect city if had been on "sim city game". Mainly because the perspective was on 10 miles of the ground, but this is just way to look for that picture. We must remember that humans usually live in the ground (lol), and we our natural environment is on an savanna When you start to think in biology and sociology it came clear that public planning is a mess. We humans need human contact, green field and wide spaces to relax and think about live. Non of these have been considered on the construction of our hospitals, schools and city in general. To sum up, money is no the first priority to our healthy and good live, in the end it(money) will naturally show up if the city its well planned for humans !
mtrubic Should be an absolute must see for anyone in local politics. The first comment from anyone in the audience after the premiere was: "I hope our god-damned mayor was here to see this"He should have been - together with his entire city council. What really took my breath away was how you can build a transportation system to address the needs of tens of thousands of cyclists or several hundred motorists and watching the mayor of Bogota Columbia explaining his priorities while giving an interview riding a bike in the heart of his city - amazing.Another key element involved how small, close knit communities were destroyed at the dawn of the automotive era to make way for freeways between city cores and suburban sprawls where cars were necessary to travel the great distances between destinations largely because of the huge parking lots required at every place you wanted to go.Plan first build later.Excellent film - I hope new cities in Asia can learn from our western mistakes
