Director Charley Bowers, who would leave Mutt & Jeff that that year of 1926 to produced elaborate, live-action cartoons starring himself (such classics as WILD ROOMER), has the unlikely pair go mountain climbing, dealing with the cartoon laws of physics and various wild animals, including a mountain goat with more personality than their exhibit in their movies. It is a little difficult for modern viewers to appreciate the comic strip that these cartoons are based on. Indeed, I find them lacking in much substance beyond their basic clown personalities. But there is little doubt they were enormously popular in their day and this is quite watchable cartoon.
