docm-32304 Firstly, I am not usually a fan of Jet Li films. I find the background music in his productions irritating and the fight scenes hokey. But I decided to give this one a try as I was curious why Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins would be in one of his films. I was completely surprised!!!! As others have mentioned, this film This film can stand on its own as a good piece of drama. At times, you could sense that the old paradigm for Li movies was being restrained, but it would quickly return back to the hopefully new direction for his career, with great writing and acting.If you are a dyed in the wool Jet Li fan, you might not like this one. But if you are simply a movie fan, this is an excellent and surprisingly good movie. I highly recommend.

2karl- this cracking kung fu action flick came out in 2005 with 1hr36mins of head pummeling martial arts action with jet Li in spell bounding form with an impressive cast of bob Hoskins and Morgan freeman as a blind man jet Li is Danny who is as a slave raised by gangster bob Hoskins to be violent fighting machine and a compete in a illegal gladiator style fight clubs when Danny has chance encounter with a blind piano player tuner ( Morgan freeman character) Danny experiences of true kindness for the first time and escapes he escapes from the underworld to live with the piano tuner and his family but the mob go looking for Danny but wont give up on their asset Danny must fight his way out of his old life to protect his new identity new family and shed his old life for good better than expected film 7/10

Prismark10 Unleashed is a hokey but fun action film with a script that is rather barking mad just as is its depiction of Glasgow with cockney gangsters, blind American musicians and a Chinese guy treated like a dog.Jet Li is Danny who really is raised like an attack dog, with a collar and sleeps in a cage. His master is a sadistic gangster played by Bob Hoskins who sets him loose on people who he wants dispatching.Chance leads him to the kindness of strangers as Danny encounters Sam (Morgan Freeman) a blind pianist and his ward Victoria. For the first time he encounters beauty, music and something like a family.However he has to choose when Hoskins turns up whether he wants to go back to his old ways and death fights or whether to go for a better life and he also gets a chance of avenging his mother's death.The film might sound daft but it has a starry cast with Hoskins hamming it up as the gangster, an unusual setting of Glasgow with not many Scots and Li showing of his mean martial arts skills.

adi_2002 Danny (Jet Li) is a fighter who lost his mother when he was a child and is now in the care of a mobster who takes care of him gives him food and a place to sit but has a habit by getting used as the dog. He brings money to others who were borrowed from him and did not return the money and Danny has the responsibility to deal with them by beating them and sometimes kill. One day when his master Bart is an antique to recover a sum of money, here Danny meets Sam an old man who has lost his sight and with it he discovers a passion of his, namely that likes to play the piano. In another day when they are in the car on their way to recover some debts they have an accident and are attacked and killed, but Danny manages to escape and is picked up by Sam and takes him home to take care of him. He has a stepdaughter and asks Danny to take her from school and bring her home safely. All three begin to live together but for Danny is harder because he doesn't know how to use a fork or a spoon and neither knows the meaning of certain words and sometimes it is hard for him even to talk. One day when he gets back from the store he meets up with one of the guys boss and finds out that he is not dead and that he wants to go back and so he returns to resume old habits but to his surprise, he tells that he doesn't wants to be the one that was before and now wants to become a normal person. He realizes that someone get shoved in his head all of this especially when he asks of the past and about his mother. So after getting rid of his hand he get's back at Sam's home but not passing long until Bart and his men find where he is.It is a film about the power of trying to discover the past and know that everything you know about your family is a lie. The film has action sequences with beats and Jet Li is one of the best actors in this type of martial arts films, also has some funny moments, when he learns to eat an ice-cream cornet and swallows an entire cup in a single sip, some piano music, the humor of gangsters, but also some less pleasant and exactly how to turn it on in an animal and treat him like one, to put it to sleep in a cage to talk exactly like a dog and put the collar that only when you give him the order he can attack. For me this was the only weak point of the film but the rest is OK.
