The recast of George "Iceman" Chambers with Michael Jai White seemed off putting to me because the authenticity Ving Rhames brought to the character. The plot, albeit similar to many we have seen about set ups and prison life was ill advised in this film. Setting up George in order to have him fight prison champ appeared to be vindictive in plight. Set in Russia this time where the prison is much harder and more immoral George is in a place he has never seen. The addition of Scott Adkins as the antagonist Yuri Boyka is highly entertaining. A huge addition as he is ripped, fit and vicious in the ring. Great fight sequences and choreography involved as the story mixes together life and fight. It's a riveting ride of action and drama. The character Chambers shows the same toughness and attitude as the first film, but we get a glimpse of a changing stride in the viewpoint of Chambers life. I truly enjoyed the storyline and character development. The film flowed nicely and had a good soundtrack to support the scenes. I give it a resounding 7 out of 10

I enjoy this sequel much more than the original. It's one of the rare sequels that is better than the original. It's cheap, but the quality is so good that it doesn't matter. This isn't your usual run of the mill STV trash. I firmly believe that this could have easily gone to theaters. It's ridiculous how we get so much garbage coming to theaters, yet good films like this don't get to go in theaters. If you're looking for good fights, you'll get that. If you're looking for a solid story, you'll get that too. It's really moving at times as well. The ending will have even the manliest of guys get teary eyed. The performances are solid. Michael Jai White is very good as Chambers. I felt he was the perfect replacement for Wesley Snipes. He's cocky, a bit of a bully, but he has a good heart, and most importantly, he's a badass. Scott Adkins is excellent as Boyka. He is so intense. Whenever I watch this movie, It's a bit strange to see him as a villain since Boyka becomes a hero in the third movie. He wasn't a total villain. Both Chambers and Boyka have reputations on the line. The fights between Adkins and Jai White deliver in a big way. Both Adkins and Jai White are ridiculously agile. Ben Cross actually plays somebody likable for once. I enjoyed his performance. Eli Danker is excellent in his role. I enjoyed his relationship and chemistry with Jai White. If you think all movies that go straight to video suck, you'd be wrong. This movie proves that's not true. Martial art fans or people who just love fights will enjoy this one.7.5/10

"Undisputed II" is an improvement over the original. It has more bone-crunching fights. The plot: Heavy-weight boxing champion George "The Iceman" Chambers (White) is once again thrown in prison after being framed. But the twist is that he's in a Russian jail chock full of stereotypes. The only way to live.....is to fight the reigning champion Boyka (Adkins). It's a simple plot, but with a lot of setup towards the big fight. There are actually two fights between them though. All the fights are well-choreographed and exciting.White is a good replacement for Ving Rhames from the first. Adkins plays his bad guy to the hilt. You root for him to get knocked out every second. Ben Cross is on hand as another prisoner. He puts in a good performance also. The only weak point is the ending. It's too nice. I understand why they did that, but some of the grittiness is lost.Overall, "Undisputed II" is worth seeing for the fights and White's performance. For more insanity, please visit: comeuppancereviews.com

The first "Undisputed" movie starred Wesley Snipes and was a straight up boxing film. "Undisputed II" is more of a mixed martial arts film even though Michael Jai White plays an American boxing champion. Since this movie has been out for a little while I'll spare you the plot details and just tell you that Scott Adkins is awesome; you won't believe some of the kicks he pulls off in this. Michael Jai White is awesome; one of the most underrated martial artists in the movies today. And "Undisputed II" is one of the best martial arts movies I've seen in recent years. The fight scenes are very well done and it's obvious that a martial artist directed this movie. That being said, there's also surprisingly good acting, a good story, and awesome music that made me want to start training when I heard it. If you are a martial arts movie fan, this is must see.
