THE VIRUS is a typical low budget indie horror flick from America. The protagonists are a bunch of film students who head off to a remote and abandoned installation with their professor in tow. They soon discover that the deadly virus located within is still very much alive and soon working its way through them. One by one they succumb to the gruesome disease while attempting to discover a way out of the situation. The whole film plays out in a typical fashion without a moment's originality. The visuals are grim and greyed-out but hey, it's not the worst you'll see.

The film opens with a lengthy explanatory monotone about a truth serum virus that mutates and must be contained...or else people act out their "Impulse" 1984-Meg Tilly-a film theme that has become recently popular. A college professor (William McNamara) notices the same cloud cover over a place that was there years ago (Is there an app that checks that?) He thinks something is being hidden there and it is not Dick Cheney's house. The crew goes to the remote access location by foot....okay you fill in blanks.I felt the monologue explanation should have been left out. What happened is explained within the film and a little mystery is good. This one didn't have it, and they could of had it. The acting and dialogue are on par with low budget productions. The truth serum aspect was not as good as "Liar, Liar." They needed a funny guy in the group. No swearing or nudity. Brief sex scene.

Well, I'm confused. The movie, on its own, is fine if watched without any need for details of reason.A virus kills everyone it infects while making the victim tell only the truth. So why did the nano-tech company develop it? The movie does not really make that clear, so you have to read about it on IMDb. Only then does it make any kind of sense. Now here's one for ya ... IMDb has two people going by Johnny Tabor and Jon Tabor, with credits very different from each other. Yet both men are listed as doing the same character in this movie. And now, with the boards gone, there's no easy way to call anyone's attention to this stuff.I'm throwing up my hands and walking away.

i enjoyed watching it was different to most films i have watched in this category where viruses are concerned a teacher and his students go to a site that was hidden on the map get trapped in a building as they were unaware the building was contained and was guarded by solders then in turn the students start becoming ill and did not know what was going on or why they were getting ill but they also started acting strange they then go exploring the building to find a way out , they come across a laptop where they find out about the virus and why the building was hidden at least they didn't turn into zombies the ending will leave you wondering if there will be a number 2
