williamjewell-94205 Movie SummaryI recently saw the movie Trade, and I thought this movie was pretty good. It shows people what is happening in the this world today with all the human trafficking. This movie has great actors who made the movie very believable. Jorge ( Cesar Ramos) plays as a young boy who is looking for his sister in Mexico was kidnapped by human traffickers. Ray Sheridan (Kevin Kline) plays as a protective cop that is also looking for someone close in Mexico, then stumbles on Ramos and they both gang up to find the young boy's sister. They travel all over the place in Mexico and in America to try to find the young girl named Adriana ( Paulina Gaitán). They found a lot of clues that helped them with their mission of finding the people who kidnapped the young boy's (Cesar Ramos) sister Adriana so they can bring her back home. This movie turns out to be an eye opener into the human trafficking trade. The things I didn't like about the movie was the language. I don't mind the language, because of the young kids they may watch this. The part about this movie that I didn't understand was why didn't the detective, Ray Sheridan finish looking for what he was looking for at the beginning of the movie? Overall that's the two things I didn't like or understand about this movie. The rest of the movie was great. This was probably not one of the best movies I've seen in awhile.
austinearlywine Trade: A World Unknown I saw Trade and felt like I was part of it all. It is a drama about a young man trying to get his sister back, and on the way he gets an unlikely accomplice. This movie was cast-ed very well, the actors bring their roles to life and make you feel what they are going through. The performance given by Cesar Romas (Jorge) was especially impressive. He gave a phenomenal performance, and Cesar made sure you, a viewer, feel as if you were experiencing and feeling exactly what he felt and the suffering that he endured. Kevin Kline (Ray) put on an amazing performance, Ray is an insurance fraud investigator. You wouldn't see this alliance coming, as Jorge is very leary of police and white people. This movie brings a world that is largely unknown to light. It shows just how easy it is for a girl to be taken and get caught up in this terrible life, and how hard it is to get out of. The audience will see a side of this world that everyone would like to believe doesn't exist, a side of the world that is hidden and unseen by normal citizens. The viewer will see how easy it is for the people who do this to get away with it and how it is so normal for them and these poor people. This movie will make you wonder just how messed up one person would have to be to do that stuff to another human being.
lyndseytyler I watched Trade in my English class while talking about human trafficking. This movie really opened my eyes about the reality of human trafficking and the awful truth of it. Trade is suspenseful, yet you can kind of guess what is going to happen. You really have to watch the movie and pay close attention to what is going on for you to understand most of the movie later on. Anybody that watches this movie should be mature enough to handle the contents of it. However, I do believe that this movie should be very intriguing and eye catching to all viewers. The story-line was very powerful and it had meaning. The movie Trade made me realize all the wrong in the world. This movie was one of the most powerful and moving movies I've ever seen and will probably ever come across. I highly recommend this movie for mature audiences.
patbradley435 A movie isn't as good as its beginning; it's a sum of its middle and end also. This is where the film falls apart. It's too simplistic and unengaging. The part were the young girl and her older friend escape is not too well done. They're in a busy, busy place with police in the crowd, but they're still apprehended again without too much trouble - by the same two guys who let them escape whilst taking a leak together when the girls absconded!!! Bad dialogue also exists, especially between Kline and Ramos (Ray and Jorge) with Ramos stealing the show. Now the end is totally Americano and sugary. Just wait and see. It almost defies belief and will have you muttering under your breath many well earned expletives, especially towards its director, Marco Kreuzpaintner, who lacks much in the way of building tension and suspense. The very final scene is just plain stupid. The film gains many excellent reviews on here, which doesn't surprise me. It's not dire, but comes pretty close. This for me, is an exercise in how not to make a well structured piece of film.I was feeling kind when I gave it 5/10.
