I love Japan cinema take on every genre sometime it can be deeply disturbing and thought-provoking like Takashi Miike Audition or sometime it can be over the top and batsh*t crazy like this movie Tokyo Gore Police. With the plot just as much crazy this movie will may sure to satisfied any gorehound fan while watching the bloody journey to revenge of a female cop named Ruka played by the lead actor of Audition Eihi Shiina. The practical effect in this movie is top notch with any insane idea you can imagine in a body horror movie.Non of the characters are normal so the line between good and evil is very blurry.Don't think while watching this movie or else your brain may hurt just sit back and enjoy the wild experience Tokyo Gore Police give you

It's night and today is Mr. Yoshihiro Nishimura's birthday (April 1st), so by celebrating I had some fast food and watched one of his splatter films which starred Eihi Shiina, who is known for Takashi Miike's Audition, and she plays a real badass cop. It also stars Shun Sugata, who was in Miike's Ichi The Killer. This is one bizarre, insanely disturbing and funny film filled with sprays of blood, tons of gore, mutated body parts into creatures and weapons which I truly enjoyed and loved. If you are a fan of gore and haven't seen this, I highly recommend it. Yoshihiro always brings the best in his work. I really want to see a sequel to this blood bath masterpiece.

Tokyo Gore Police delivers exactly what its title promises. In the future the police force has been privatized and its methods against the newly arisen threat of fiendish mutant "Engineers" can be described as brutish and barbaric at best. The movie is nothing more than one action-packed scene after another, riddled with scenes of bizarre creatures, even stranger people and quite honestly things you wouldn't see even while high as a kite. And for what it is, it's great. This is quintessential gore film where it's more important to go through as many liters of blood as humanly possible instead of focusing on the story. It has its own style and I cannot lie and say that I don't appreciate it every now and then. The visuals are fantastically strange, the action works very well and the setting is great.Unfortunately the movie suffers from slight pacing and acting problems. Not that the latter is really required from a decent gore film, but it's always a plus. Eihi Shiina plays our main character, Ruka, a detached loner with a definite talent for combat. Unfortunately she plays her a bit too detached, leaving us detached from the experience as well. The rest of the cast is also prone to overacting, which can be problematic. But the biggest problem is the film's tendency to overindulge on the gore. The very first fight is simply minutes after minutes of blood splashing around. It looks impressive on a technical level, but if the viewer gets bored by the blood before the first fight of the movie is over, you're doing something wrong. And yes, I said that blood trumps story in gore films, but even then there needs to be even an attempt for both.I cannot really call Tokyo Gore Police a good film. It's an intriguing and entertaining one, certainly, but it's more style than substance, which is a problem most gore film battle with, admittedly. Worth a watch if you're a fan of the genre, others should steer clear.

This is a tough one - how do you review a film that basically has no plot? I'll try.A mad scientist has developed a virus that mutates humans into hideous killing machines, and a special paramilitary squad, lead by the sexy and ice cold Ruka, is working hard to maintain order in the streets of futuristic Tokyo. It is over the top to the max with absolutely all the disgusting gore, blood, guts and violence you could ever wish for. I promise you that "Tokyo Gore Police" isn't like anything you have ever seen before, and even though I try very hard, I really can't compare to anything. What I especially love about these Japanese films is the humour; again outrageous and over the top leaving you giggle like a little school girl. But to enjoys it, you will have to love plot less and brain dead films. If you do, I promise you that "Tokyo Gore Police" gives you a wild ride.
