I heard a lot of positive reviews about this movie and I decided it was time for me to watch it too. Oh, how I wish I didn't...The movie is bad. It is. The characters were so hard to relate to because all they did is make me angry and annoyed. I was not able to feel empathy and root for those characters. Their decisions were irrational, their emotions didn't make sense, and their moods and feelings kept changing from scene to scene: first they hate each other, then they love each other, then they hate again, then they love again, and so on. Is this a kindergarten?! I mean, sure, such "love" sometimes happens, but in this case it just wasn't reasoned enough. One thing that made me a little happier is that they seemed to get a bit more mature in the ending and left all that typical but over-dramatized romance behind. I still feel mad though. It also appeared to me that the film's claim is that the only way to achieve spiritual happiness is by being a rebel and breaking the rules. How shallow and small-minded, really.

The guy treats the girl like sh't and she still falls for him. Really naive movie, it should have teach girls to never take this horrible treatment from guys and instead aim higher.I don't understand why people still make this kind of movies.what are we really telling girls? to accept this behavior and fight with other girls over guys that treats women like dogs? And what will it teach guys? to act like this to a girl and she will eventually fall for him? and why can't the guy mature by himself for once, why must women act like some babysitter and teach a grown man how to respect others?Just the same old macho bullsh't.

I wouldn't call this film extraordinary but there's something about it that made me feel good, be nervous, be disappointed, be compassionate while watching it.One funny thing. I watched Tres Metros.. in Russian and in English. When Hache first met Babi in the traffic jam he called her 'dogface' in English version and 'soldier' in Russian (no idea why! So silly). It made me curious what was really said so I found an original. With my basic Spanish I could figure out that Hache said 'fea' (Spanish speakers, help me out here) which means 'ugly'. So English 'dogface' in slang was closer to this meaning ('very insulting term for an ugly girl/woman', urbandictionary.com). My search went further. There's actually an English slang term 'fea' which means the same as the Spanish one: 'Fea can be used as an endearing expression to refer to a girl. It literally means ugly, but when someone is beautiful and you call them fea, it is culturally acceptable - as a tease'. Still NO IDEA why Russians translated it like 'soldier'. That's why I never watch English movies dubbed into Russian, only in original language. Unfortunately, I don't speak Spanish to watch Tres metros.. I wish I could.Back to the movie. I think that Hache and Babi haven't reached 'true love' stage. Sure, they have changed each other but not to the point where they could make their relationships work. The second movie 'Tengo Ganas de Ti' will explain more and I think both movies should be watched to complete the picture...

Tragic-Romantic story set in Barcelona, Spain. H is a problematic guy with secrets hidden within him, making his rage appear instantly and making his heart unreachable. Babi is a rich girl who attends her Senior year in a private school. Once their worlds collide, there is no turning back. They start a passionate relationship, full of adventure, but also finding a few bumps in the road. Not only they start love story, but their friends get to experience love, too. I personally read the book and think they did justice to the novel. The few modifications they did to the story didn't change the plot drastically, which was good because Tres Metros Sobre el Cielo is an excellent book.
