Theri a title copied from a dialogue said by ajith Kumar in the movie velhalam story copied from the movie kshatriyan which is acted by vijaykanth I don't know when is Vijay is going to give a original movie(excluding his movies with arm) two heroines Amy Jackson and Samantha for namesake a predictable screenplay boring romance part in flashbacks gives us a head ache and coming to the point on Vijays acting which is zero percent I think Vijay should stop acting the only saving grace was the acting done by the child nainanika which was better than the hero itselfTheri-no Sparks only headache

Director Atlee let his intentions known to the views right from the launch of the movie. This was always going to be pure out and out commercial pot boiler, no holds barred. Well that's the entire point I believe. Atlee has just celebrated the mass factor called 'Vijay' and has made sure the fans reciprocate the same.Theri has nothing to be remembered in terms of a 'new story'. But it has lot of things to be raved about by means of making. Credits goes to Atlee. The maturity he has managed to show in his second movie itself is spellbinding. He has a clear view about commercial filmmaking works. Even the nook and corner of it. One small example for this guy's prowess is the song sequences. You see in Indian cinema, song sequences occupy an important part. When it is brought about in the perfect proportion and placement, it lets the filmmakers reach an arch of celebration. Whatever the emotion it maybe. Joy, sorrow, love or whatever. Songs let you travel through that emotion in an abstract fashion. And this is why sometimes when song placements go wrong, the entire movie goes horribly wrong too. But this lad just bosses you in this aspect. Seamless and flawless montages for every single song just carries the movie to a whole new level, though the songs by themselves aren't chartbuster by themselves. In particular, "En Jeevan" song montage is OUT OF THE WORLD. Well, an understatement maybe.Coming up to the main factor called 'Vijay', that has propelled this movie by several levels, what else could be said? He is someone who's a honest director's artist. He just replicates director's pen honestly, even if it is absurd (Puli is an example for this maybe :P ). And when you've got such a director here who seldom makes mistake in milking out the finest performance from the given cast, Vijay wouldn't have made a mistake even in the wildest of his dreams I believe. He has churned out such a supremely elegant as well as cute and cheeky performance as Vijay Kumar/Joseph Kuruvilla. May it be his subtle mannerisms as Joseph, or his bold antics and clever tactics as the policeman, or the naughty loverboy, or the man coming back with a vengeance, this man just nailed it. When Vijay is at his best, you aren't bound by logic or you aren't bound by some restricted movements. It gives the audience such a feel-good screen presence thereby bringing out more liberties for the director to explore. We have had him at his best here. Different level _/\_Entire cast justified it's tag by living up to their reputation. Samantha gave a brilliant performance there by managing to throw some scintillating chemistry with Vijay, resulting in a lovely lovely track between them. Baby Nainika was cuteness redefined. Radhika, Prabhu, Rajendran everyone gave an eye-pleasing performance. Special credits to Mahendran whose villain antics was highly impressive. With an eerie body language and dialogue delivery, he reminded me more of "Sivaji" Adhiseshan but at the same time lived up to his hype.Technically the movie was brilliant too. Editing was at its crispiest and creative best. Except for one place. The first rain fight sequence lost its fizz because of some hasty editing in my opinion. Cinematography was at it's glossiest best. Musical score by GV Prakash though wasn't damn too impressive with songs as mentioned earlier, he made up with some pulsating BG score.I couldn't find any faults other than some pacing problem at the start of the second half. But there were enough number of adrenaline pumping scenes to make it up though. At the end of the day, Theri is perfect commercial outing with a potpourri of wide range of emotions at a high level, well scripted brilliantly executed and perfectly enacted.less

Theri (The Spark) is a very fun and action packed film. I would like to focus on the music videos, the storyline and the rest. The music video was really enjoyable for all ages. The only con about the music videos is that you would have to keep listening it and watching it again for you to be really interested in it. Therefore, I would rate the music videos a 7.5/10The storyline was not what I have expected. I expected it to be a "mass" film like Thuppakki or Vedalam; but instead it focused on 40% "mass" and a 60% "father-daughter" type story. Although it was mostly about the relationship of a father and a daughter, Baby Nainika's acting was cute and bubbly :) Motta Rajendran's comedy was not up to standard like his other films. Therefore I would like to rate the storyline 8.5/10 Theri has also collected more than 80 crores in 6 days which is already considered as a blockbuster hit. My final words, Theri Baby!
