salmanalfarisi-81574 After the effort of trio Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost from Shaun Of The Dead to Hot Fuzz, they finally closed the Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy in The World's End which symbolizes green as a stereotypical color of aliens. If Shaun Of The Dead is known as the bloody zom-rom-com element, Hot Fuzz is thick with the elements of the police with full of action, The World's End brings the identical of a childhood which unexpectedly encountered with the robots who rule the world. For me, Shaun Of The Dead remains one of the best in this trilogy whereas Hot Fuzz is practically funny but not in its entirety even though I like both. The World's End also has memorable scenes like those two series but this conclusion series doesn't seem to be a comedy, almost, and more arguably for the whole. For me, The World's End for the first impressions didn't really have things of interest to me. It's just about an overwhelming guy who's still caught in his teens years since his age is 40 years old. In addition, the synopsis itself isn't a different thing if you look at other films such as The Hangover. However, The World's End provides an interesting concept in the middle of the story so the film feels different when it changes its direction so drastically. It's about a bunch of people who want to enjoy their youth again, for the last time, into a dark, complex, but intense. Not much is shown by Edgar Wright and the duo comedian of Pegg and Frost because this isn't the stage of the two of them but three other friends gather together to form a group of old men who seem like children.Nick Frost as Andy Knightley is great in this. His performance isn't the same as the two previous series that look ridiculous and funny. In this movie, he looks like a different person who came out of the character a little serious though sometimes he is also funny in this movie. But the most dominating one is Simon Pegg as Gary King. He pulled out all his courage, words, and jokes so that he was shown out all his performances he could. While still funny, he is the most dominating character, a character who fails becoming an adult and wants to be seen enjoying the chaos which is around him. Although not just a platform for two of them, everything in this movie looks to show their chemistry for the five characters that come together.Edgar Wright also looks like decreasing the tone and not so much like the two previous trilogies. The comedy is still as strong as the two films but little by little all turn into a serious situation even the ending is just like that. Similarly, the two movies sometimes turned into a warm story about friendship but seem ridiculous too. The World's End is actually still thick against the humor and gags it is especially the exact same 'fences' scene in the whole series. The World's End provides a humor which is almost the same as Hot Fuzz. For me, Hot Fuzz still takes the cake as The World's End that isn't too much to bring a lot of humor. Some of that such as the running gags, the visual comedy, and the sync with the music is really good besides being used as if they don't show it clearly when compared to the two series. Apart from those, fortunately, there is some comedy that isn't too memorable but still shows an effective quality at least can make the audience chuckle. The dialogues that appear also still feel thick especially the ending scene which I'll not talk into it because it is a spoiler. In all these scenes, it's clear that Simon Pegg as Gary King is the best and seems to dominate especially when he talking too fast with a tempo that's not so until taking a deep breath and continue it. Sometimes this movie has its own essence like a drama that tells a man who wants to reminisce again, calls all his whole gangs but failure to make things as beautiful as the things they do as a teenager. It's about a move on to move forward and join the society, about a teenager who has a lot of bitter, beautiful, and painful memory. Sometimes, things like that are a tiny slap and hit inside with the atmosphere which is quite dark for a comedy movie. In this case, The World's End takes the cake when compared with Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead, both of which have a ridiculous conclusion but still contain the elements of the drama itself. In every aspect, The World's End it's about someone who's still stuck in his past and can't get out of the zone. In spite of that, this movie is an incredible conclusion to the trilogy which once existed from a super crazy journey into misadventures to save the world. In a few moments, I like this movie for some reason. The World's End is a conclusion to a remarkable comedy trilogy. In the three series, they try to insert a variety of important messages containing drama and satire. The duo comedian of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost seem funny as well apart from not only those who steal the spotlight. However, Simon Pegg is the most dominant in this film that comes with his performance which can be connected into one. If you still haven't seen this movie, I think you should enjoy it from the first trilogy because this is the real comedy.
Steven Moore I have just watched this on Netflix, thank goodness I didn't go to the cinema to see it. Maybe it's my age but the whole premise of a pub crawl with unwilling participants, on tea total, which turn up anyway was a bit far fetched. Then we had the village with 12 pubs, how do they make any money? Taken over by androids with some higher motivation of galactic good or was it evil, who knows or even cares. So it was really just an excuse for 5 actors to badly act drunk and destroy a lot of zombies, sorry robots in ridiculous fighting scenes. Not very funny and a complete waste of talent and time.
carlalsop So underrated, best one, so clever, will watch again and again!
mark-swinton Edgar Wright has managed to pull off a great enjoyable last movie to this Cornetto trilogy with a fitting mix up in the roles between the two actors. The comedy is landed very well, which is something that Edgar Wright manages to do in all the other Cornetto films but with this manages to add in a few serious moments and when he does it hits well and doesn't seem out of place or ruin the tone of the movie. One criticism I would give to this movie is that the main antagonist doesn't that much of a threat over the characters. They minions are just punching bags and when the main villain pops up it just takes a loud conversation to beat him.The movie is still very enjoyable though and this trilogy should be completed all the way through.
