juanitapinkbutterfly The movie is pretty cheesy and fun to watch. its about a pack of zombies that come out of a cursed tv and start killing people in suburbia. One thing I like about the film is the zombies, who all get their unique characters and personalities. There is a charred bald zombie, a rotting bride, a pink zombie, and a fat zombie who has an iron in his head. The kills are creepy and fun at the same time. I especially love the scene when the chubby zombie stealthily sneaks up behind an equally chubby Asian housekeeper and then lets out excited bellowing growls as he starts choking her. He is also not shy to show her he is enjoying killing her, as he continuously giggles and smiles while nodding "yes die" at her agony and her pleas for him to stop. After choking her dead, he seems proud of his merciless kill. The scene freaked me out as a kid. Thus, the zombies kill for pure fun and games. Another scene sees the bride strangle a housewife and stuffing her into a washing machine. After a few more kills, the heroes venture into the woods but also get killed by a chainsaw-wielding zombie. They later have a dinner party! The zombies make the best characters in the film. Human characters are paper thin and just there to be killed by the zombies. You have a bickering brother and sister waiting for the arrival of their parents. You have the blond next door neighbor who seems sliughty daft. You have her skinny little father who is getting sexual favors from the chubby maid. And then their neighbors who just all die as soon as we meet them An odd little horror, but worth watching for sure.
Paul Magne Haakonsen Well for a 1987's zombie movie, then "The Video Dead" wasn't all that bad, but... It wasn't overly interesting either. The effects were actually pretty good considering the age of the movie, and the zombies do look nice, I will give them that much. Of course, compared to the stuff in todays movie, then sure it is out of date, but still it was good to see.Story-wise, then "The Video Dead" failed to deliver a properly entertaining one. The storyline was fairly weak and uneventful, bordering on being overly predictable. Truth be told, then I was dozing off every now and then throughout the movie. The story in "The Video Dead" is about two teenagers who are looking after a newly bought house, waiting for their parents to return from abroad. And a mysterious old TV on the attic have unleashed a vile evil upon the world in the shape of shambling zombies that have broken through from the movie world into the real world. The acting in the movie was fairly adequate, nothing spectacular or captivating though. All in all, then "The Video Dead" is a slightly below average experience in the zombie genre. It may be worth a watch if you enjoy old zombie movies and have nothing better to watch. But if you are on the look-out for something unique and impressive, then you are better off with something else.
FlashCallahan A crate is delivered to a house in the woods. The homeowner unwisely accepts the delivery, only to discover it contains a TV set that starts spewing zombies all over the place. When a new family moves into the now-abandoned house, the son discovers the haunted television and is soon told what he needs to do to send the zombies back where they belong. Knowing and doing, however, are two very different things, and the zombies are not likely to go quietly.......With a title like this, you should expect something a little cheesy, but with something about it.This film has nothing about it. Women caked in make up kissing teenage boys, is something I do not want to see, especially when the woman gets killed by some weird sweaty 'hero' once she goes back tot the TV.I understand that the film was shot mostly on weekends, but really, does it really have to have such bad acting and really poor effects?Plot is really non existent, and come the end, you want to destroy your TV, let alone watch a film about people warning an annoying group of people about TV.I'm sure somewhere in the film, it's a metaphoric way of telling people not to watch too much TV.It's worked for me, I'll never subject my eyes to this again.
atinder First time watch. This had a little strange plot, well it new at the time, I liked the idea of Zombies come out of a TV set, The zombies did look a bit scary. (the make up effects were really good) at first but as the movie goes you will find more funny, as do some really funny killing. Were really funny death in scenes in this movie, This movie made me Jump in one scene lol, some so silly made me Jump. There were some bloody moments in this movie was nice, there were not many gory moment in this movie. The acting was really wooden for main lead boy, it felt like it was reading the link and not acting them out at all. I liked the ending of this movie, I thought that was really good way to end the movie. 5 out of 10
