"The Underneath" turned out to be a lot creepier than expected. What I thought was going to be a lame low budget horror flick turned out to be creepy as hell, giving me chills to see the creatures underground. This left images in my head that will come to mind the next time I am rock climbing or in the woods. I would not recommend watching this alone or before bed - you will not sleep! Actress Natalie Wilemon gave an excellent performance in this horror flick. She brought Jessie's character to life and adequately expressed the distress and desperation she was going through. Keep an eye out for this girl because she will be something big!

This movie is a total waste of time .. all of it is pure darkness .. i felt like am listening to the movie not watching... story line is so weak and i strongly recommend you not to watch it at all .the movie is so boring , maybe the story would be better if they added another 30 minutes of darkness ... i hope they never try to produce another movie or any kind of videos .but , the actors did well .. the sound effects is good .Another thing , since the whole movie is only 70 minutes long , why did they waste 15 minutes in the beginning on romantic stuff between the two of them ? and the end is awful .. what happened to the girl ? dead or alive ? she killed 4 creatures .. could the last one kill her ??Any way in the end , its the worst movie i have ever seen in my life and i wasted 70 minutes on it

I must admit that about twenty minutes into this disaster I figured it couldn't't't get much worse and decided to stay with it...bad idea. I don't know why movies like this are made, because there can't be any profit involved. I don't know why anyone likes movies like this, since only the most ardent lover of this genre (is this trapped underneath stuff concept a genre?)couldn't't't find anything positive to take away from a viewing. No specifics are necessary, no spoilers here, this is just very, very bad stuff. I can't call it horror but I can call it horrible. You know how sometimes you run across small racks of movies in the oddest retail environments? Like you are at Ace Hardware, back near the hazardous solvent section, and you see titles like 'Hercules in Hell' or 'The march of the 20 foot Delbert' and you say to yourself 'hmmm, maybe, just maybe it has some hot actress in it' so you buy the thing, take it home and yes she is fine but no it just isn't worth it? Done that? OK, this is that kind of movie. My sincere regrets to all involved.

Okay, so there are actors who can act and there are those whom you can SEE that they're really trying to act. This is one such case. The leading man, Holt, is one of the stiffest, woodenest (neologism), over acting, under actors I have ever seen. He might be used to stage acting where one must exaggerate the part so those in the back rows can see and hear, but in movies, one shouldn't do that. He apparently didn't get the memo. It ruined the flick for me, it could have been a good flick, but he shouldn't have been cast anywhere near this film. The leading girl was good. If you watch this film, try to fast forward through his lines and predictably the film will not lose an ounce of entertainment value, and will gain in the absence.
