view_and_review This movie was bad from the moment Val Kilmer's bloated, cosmetically altered face appeared on screen until the deplorable ending.Val Kilmer is the "Traveler" (which was interesting because he was called the drifter in the movie. Maybe they didn't want this movie to be confused with the half dozen or so other projects called "The Drifter"). He mysteriously appeared at an isolated New York police station being manned by six cops. He said he wanted to "confess" to some murders yet his behavior was that of someone with ill-intentions.There was one big problem with the movie. The problem was Val Kilmer. His pale, bloated face evoked pity not dread or fear. He looked more like an oddity than an awe-inspiring ominous figure. And his conspicuous silence at times wasn't spooky it was frustrating. He was like a person intentionally ignoring you, you're not afraid of him you want to slap him. Dopey, doughy and annoying is how I would describe him.The Traveler's interest in "confessing" to some murders as well as his strange behavior had the police on edge. They got more agitated the moment an officer was mysteriously killed and then another. There was no question about the fact that the Traveler's presence had something to do with the deaths and they quickly disclosed why the Traveler may have been there. The movie was following the malevolent-killer-entity code--then they threw in a twist in the form of a revelation of sorts. From the point of the absurd revelation until the end was a sheer drop off of a cliff. Whatever redeeming value the movie did have was totally incinerated. It quickly accelerated from bad to worse like someone was throwing gasoline on it. Val, my man, what happened??
Jemima Miah I honestly absolutely loved this film. I genuinely believe this was a genius idea and this is a scary film that is actually scary. I watch a lot of horror movies and I get bored but this is one I was scared and wanted to continue watching it. I didn't enjoy the ending too much but throughout the film, I was scared of what to expect next from Mr Nobody. This film will surprise you. I don't watch trailers in films because they ruin the whole plot and there aren't many surprises so honestly didn't expect anything like this. I enjoy watching films that I'll remember and this is certainly one that I will always remember and watch again because I know it'll give me the same reaction that it did when I first watched it.
Tss5078 After seeing this film, I'm pretty certain we have a new front runner for the "Worst Movie I've Seen All Year" contest. I should have known a B-Horror movie, starring Val Kilmer, wouldn't be any good, but once again I was fooled by one of those clever fellows who write the descriptions on the back of the box. One a snowy Christmas Eve, a man walks into a Police station, to confess to crimes he hasn't yet committed. It sounded like a cool concept, when in actuality, it was nothing more than a waste of time. Where to begin? First off, this film is so painfully predictable, my dog knew what was coming next. The Traveler must have had no budget what-so-ever, because not only was the supporting cast a complete joke, but so was everything else! From the decrepit, falling apart, Police station to the twenty year old squad cars, and of course the miserable special effects, this film was pure doody from beginning to end. As for Val Kilmer, he was about as convincing as Tyler Perry is as the new Alex Cross. Seldom have a seen a more lazy and sloppy performance, with such a complete lack of emotion and muffled lines. I really have to wonder if the other actors could smell the manure coming off of him on the set. This film is one that never should have even been made, run away from it and never look back!
Spaceygirl : "The Traveler" is one of those films that starts very well and draws the audience to know more of the story. But as it progresses, about 40 minutes into the movie, the film begs you to be open-minded and to suck in all the stupidity it delivers. delivers. If you hate illogical horror, you better not see this film, especially since it delivers obscure moral lessons. It's also very (very, VERY!!) icky and violent....and the acting is AWFUL! (I told you Val Kilmer was dodgy Bronwyn!) It also suffers horribly from repetition, making it boring...and really Val Kilmer needs to give up acting now because he's embarrassing himself and WASTING OUR MONEY!! 1/10
