a seductive idea. maybe because, as child, it was one of my leading dreams. surprising performances. and admirable air. a film telling the lines of a book. in admirable manner. and nothing more. because it is a film about family. and about the meets who define lives. it is a film about sacrifices. and about love. and the so simple basis of a Sci. Fi. who is just tool of touching romance is its virtue who impress. because , in not ordinary manner, it is a film about the viewer. about relation and about challenges. about feelings and about emotions. about the basic ingredient of old fairy tales. and about choices. a beautiful film. a real beautiful film. this is the only significant word for define it in decent way.

I was a huge fan of the book and while the movie didn't translate quite as well as I had hoped, ultimately I did enjoy it. I liked the casting with Eric Bana as Henry, a librarian with a rare genetic disorder that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan without control. Rachel McAdams was also perfect as his lady love Claire, who has been in love with (and seeing) Henry her entire life.Even knowing the story I did find this confusing at times, trying to figure out "when" Henry was supposed to be. I think they could have solved this by altering his appearance a bit more than just adding a few strands of (unnoticeable) grey) hair. It also came across that his biggest problem with time jumping was finding clothes, as he was continually getting dressed or looking for clothes. The romance aspect was pretty good, decent chemistry, suitably poignant. I definitely felt sorry for Clare trying to build a life with a guy that disappears without warning all the time... hmmm actually that sounds familiar.Anyways an interesting idea for a romance that will appeal to those who like the time travel stories and a little heartbreak but probably not fans of the book. 10/25/15

Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana star in "The Time Traveler's Wife," from 2009. Directed by Robert Schwentke and based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger, it tells the story of Henry DeTamble.Henry (Eric Bana) works as a special collections librarian. He has an anomaly he was born with which allows him to travel in time. He never knows when or where he's going. When Clare Abshire meets him, she invites him to dinner -- she has been in love with him since she was six years old. He finds out that he visited her often when she was a child. They fall in love and marry. It turns out that being married to a time traveler isn't all it's cracked up to be. Henry always leaves unexpectedly and sometimes is gone for a while, and it can happen at any time.Good movie, with wonderful performances by both leads, who have good chemistry. Rachel McAdams to me is scarily like Jennifer Garner. She's lovely and sympathetic as Clare, and Bana, a fine actor, is very effective as Henry, whose visits to the future don't always make him comfortable.Depending on your mood, this bittersweet story can be a real tear- jerker. It got to me and I cried, I admit it.I think the tale says that we have to deal with what we're given, even if it's not always convenient. We are not always the masters of our abilities.
