vivi_murillo I just saw this movie, pity I didn't watch it in French, it was in Spanish but I loved it anyway. I think it was very funny, loved the music and it was a perfect cast too, the three kings are cute or good-looking. The girl Macha was very convincing. The small details like: speaking every language, or been understood by everybody, the costumes and all that gave the movie a different thing that make it easy to remember and of course a great option for having a good laugh. I definitely will buy it of I see it someday, mainly because I want to see it in it's original language, that I assume should be better that with a weird dubbing.
Ian Holder I saw this movie last night on TV: and I haven't laughed so much for a very long time. The first hour or so, when the three Magi make their way to Paris, and then explore, had me in stitches. Their "old world" speech and actions in today' world lent itself to much humour. The high level of humour dropped off at the half way point and things became a bit darker, though still funny.Yet I still greatly enjoyed the movie. Plenty to ponder, especially as Christmas becomes all the more material and commercial. The idea of a bit of magic in today's world, and something people can believe in, struck a chord with me.
figarok Back to the future ! The three "kings" are seeking for the new Jesus, in 2001... in Paris. This is NOT a common comedy. I mean, one will not laugh loudly all the time. It is full of wit one will enjoy only if one possesses a large vocabulary and culture. It is much more a Christmas tale (but a few people realizes that) than a brainless movie like AmPie - though it's not THE event of the year, it's a fun time very optimistic and enthiousastic.
nick2be I really enjoyed watching this movie. It's true that it didn't surprise me much, and it was exactly what I expected, but still it was so funny.... I laughed from the beginning to the end. Of course I'm very tempted to compare it to "Les 3 frères" done by the same people (Les Inconnus) and there, I've got to say that it's not as good, because the first one really surprised everybody in the way they used their humor through a movie. This one is still the same humor, still as funny, a little more special effects and fantasy that add some more enjoyment without bringing sth really essential. The fact that it's based on a biblical story makes people see references here and there and interpretations that are really amusing. Well if u liked "Les 3 Frères" go see this movie, if u haven't well u might enjoy it even more since u won't know their humor and types of joke already. Oh, yeah, and the acting was pretty good too, especially from Virginie De Clausade (as Macha) which was the most attaching character. Lots of good feelings and laughter, a perfect pick for a family Christmas movie or for anybody who wants to laugh and have a good time.
