OK, everybody knows more or less what are all the movies of Bud Spencer about, so i'll not try to sell it as a masterpiece. But i still remember it as one of the favorite movies of my childhood. The story is the usual "E.T. meets all kind of humans, some of them very friendly, and others not so friendly", but made in the usual Bud Spencer style. Bud Spencer is the sheriff of a little town in USA, and has to fight with all the bad guys, army, etcetcetc. Funny as hell, the little "remote control" used by the kid was one of the most wanted toys of our times. I saw it recently, and... i still watch it with a smile, despite knowing that is far from being a good movie and also that it aged quite badly.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who loved that movie from my childhood. I've watched a lot of movies that featured Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill and I've always been a fan of theirs. Unfortunately, a website of theirs is in another language and it's really hard to track any of their movies down. If you like that movie check out the buddy movies featuring Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill. Awesome!!!!! I believe most of their movies are subtitled and seem to have a voice over. But nevertheless I enjoyed all of their movies. I happened to catch My Name is Nobody on cable the other day and I believe I seen Bud Spencer as one of the three guys who try to have Nobody take a basket that had a ticking bomb in it to the hero Jack Beauregard. I'm yet to catch up on all of their movies.

That movie is the first one that I can remember seeing at the theater. I must have been a five y-o or something then, and the other day when I watched it on DVD, I could reminisce all those souvenirs that film brought me. Relive the innocent moments of the child's magic remote control, those fights between the sheriff and the marines, all those comedic punches and slaps in the faces...The movie is also quite heart warming as well. I mean here, Bud Spencer is not only a fighter, he's someone who decides to take care of a stranded alien kid on earth. It is mainly a friendship story between an adult and a child that is sure to delight people of my generation.

This film has all the usual elements of the 'Alien Visitor' format and doesn't tax the viewer, but it is truly memorable in places. I haven't seen this film for a long time, yet I still laugh every time I think about H7-25 with his time reversal gadget, making his pursuers leap in and out of a helicopter. Bud Spencer as the sheriff looks and acts like he should have been in spaghetti westerns, yet this approach works beautifully, especially in the scene where the kid eats his sandwich. This film is just the thing to watch the day after a big night out. Sit back, stop thinking, be amused.
