saleemmakhoul The Seasoning House is one of the most original movies I've watched in a long time.In these times it's really rare to see a horror/thriller movie with a solid acting, strong directing and good characters development. Not to forget the moving story that actually makes you care about the characters. And The Seasoning House succeed in doing that. When I watched this movie I didn't have much in mind to look forward, but fortunately, The Seasoning House exceeded my expectations.I have to warn you, this movie is harsh, intense and really dark. With some sad and shocking scenes. It's not for everyone to watch.Definitely worth a watch!
Fayette This movie was complete garbage. Who are the people that are rating this super high and what the hell is wrong with you?! The subject of the movie is already extensively dark and dreadful. But, when you add that with distasteful continuous violence and perversion the movie has to do much more to convince me that it's actually telling a STORY. This movie doesn't tell a story anyone ever needed to see. What exactly was the POINT of this movie? Men are animals? It's just a stupid movie I'm sorry. It's highly unlikely the main character, Angel, would have the role she had in this movie in real life. I couldn't wait for it to be over. Honestly let me recommend another movie if you really do enjoy violent or twisted movies, but that at least is a movie WORTH the watch. Martys was very, very good... Just make sure you see the 2008 & not 2015. You're welcome. Skip this crap.
videorama-759-859391 I like the ol' indie films and ones with originality. But this film also has balls, and the true ability to shock, in some truly repellent and confronting moments that are full on. The Seasoning House was pretty much what I expected, as in only seeing bits of it on the free movie channel. Here in it's watch of entirety, what impressed me was the raw brutality of these military pigs who have their way, sexually, with these group of enslaved young girls. You underestimate how merciless they really are. The girls are not in the best states either, faces bloodied, bodies bruised, where rough sex against their will, doesn't help either. The youngest girl, a mute, is entrusted by a pimp to look after the girls. Some of the girls aren't so lucky, where this long time abuse has taken a toll on them, their bodies dumped in the cold dark woods. When the mute girl recognizes a squad of soldiers led by a ferociously cold hearted corporal (Sean Pertwee) as the ones who killed her family, she becomes a one girl vendetta, disposing of these scum in a much bloody, exhilarating and appreciative style, as like in Bedeviled. There were no real surprises in this film, like when the girl is taken in, and wakes up in suspicious surroundings with a lot of pig memorabilia, one might say. What gives it away is a familiar gesture at the start of that scene, where how her fates end in the finale is worrying if stereotypical, as if seeing other dark themed films like this. TSH is a nifty little Indie shocker, with raw moments that really shock. Be warned. The whole mood of the film is cold, set during the Balkans war of 96', painting a very dark and unflattering picture, but who am I to say if this applied to a few of them troops in a lower degree.
ikeybabe This film is brutal. It was extremely hard to watch this movie because the rape of teen girls scenes were horrifying and too realistic. For me, there is nothing entertaining about rape and this movie seemed to concentrate on this horror. I read another reviewer who stated it's tough if you're not used to seeing this - NO ONE SHOULD EVER BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO SEEING THIS! I will say, the main character played by Rosie Day was a hero you could seriously cheer for. She was so sympathetic and then brave and heroic. The slashing/stabbing scenes were also realistic and quite gory. I kept thinking that knife is really sharp. What's truly scary is that places like the Seasoning House really did/do exist, unfortunately. I will say the story was fast-paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Can I recommend this - only to those with a strong stomach.
