In a flashback, Schimanski tells how he lost his job in a short space of time: It all starts with Schimanski partying with his Italian friends at a campsite on the Rhine, opposite the Huckingen thermal power plant. There he meets the married Corinna, with whom he has an affair. When she is threatened at night by the ominous vehicle painter Pfeifer, Schimanski intervenes and gets into a scuffle with him. His beloved jacket gets ruined...
