Synopsis

The movie takes place in the present, but in this universe, a plague has broken out and the infected have been transformed into zombies. No explanation is provided for the source of the plague, nor is it explained how the original victims were infected, since by the time the narrative begins the infection spreads by bite. Nevertheless, the action starts 80 years after the initial outbreak. The western United States has devolved into a disconnected series of ghost towns overrun by zombies, and the government is awarding bounties in exchange for the pinkies of the undead.

skateboardsktr9 I just finished watching The Quick and the Undead, and loved it. I love westerns and zombie films, and this is a pretty good mixture of both. It's a modern western, but it still works. Not the highest budgeted movie, but neither were many of the great ones.It had a good amount of gore in it, a cool mixture of weapons, and the main character had an awesome outfit. It wasn't a comedy by far, but definitely had humorous moments, including a small shout-out to the original Day of the Dead. Some of the shots were similar to other movies too.A couple things could've made this movie better though, including better acting and better cinematography. Most of the characters, especially the main character, delivered very stale lines and many of the scenes held onto one shot for a bit too long. Those things aren't enough to make the movie unwatchable though, it was good enough in other areas to make up for it.
stingph I'm no director or writer or anything related to a movie. But watching more than 1 movie everyday has given me the idea of what is a good movie or not. So here it is: The quick and the undead is a rip-off of the Quick and the Dead. I was thinking that it could be a little bit of a parody of a cool movie with lots of starts in it. But oh no, I was really in for an very big disappointment. To put it simply the movie sucks. I'm a big fan of gore movies but this one just gives you gore here and there but they are not that consistent. But I have to give them credit in creating gruesome characters which has given me a little bit of squirm. If you're a big fan of zombies, watch this. If you're not...better look for other rob zombie films.
TXBear360 And No... I was not involved in the making or marketing of this film. I had the pleasure of seeing this film at the Texas Frightmare Weekend in 2006. To be honest part of my rating of this film has to do with having time to interact with Nott and the actors who attended the TFW. I have to say for the genre it was not new or avant Gard and it won't win an Oscar but it was entertaining and that is the true value of a movie.I have been a fan of the Horror genre since a small child when all we had to watch were the Lon Chaney Jr flicks and Britain's Hammer House films. The Crap that is coming out now on an almost daily basis by such companies as Lions Gate, Asylum and Creep FX to name a few is making it difficult to even locate good horror these days. Go to your local Video store and look at the Dreck that is produced. I mean look at the Jose Prendes flicks and you will see the bottom of the barrel and he got some Name horror actors in his films. The Quick and the Undead rises above the crap and gives entertainment with homage to apocalyptic films. The whole team behind the movie deserve a pat on the back and a well done. I would encourage them to keep going.
bonesandbruisess I think being Nott and Glenns first movie, not having much dough this movie was good. Considering the low budget horror flicks made these days and the deceiving creative box covers this movie had no hidden punches. Anyone who watches "b" movies can tell this story was thought thru and not some overnight script. Honestly the acting wasn't that bad, I mean I did't see Brad Pitts name on the credits and I wasn't expecting him. Everyone has to start somewhere. I thought the music and filming was good, at least they cared about there production and tried not to cut any corners. I think they will get better and I have turned off a whole lot of "b" movies inside 5 min's.This wasn't bad at all. Good job guys. Oh by the way, I didn't sleep with the star......MM
