If you like films that contain a car chase or a fight sequence every 5 minutes then don't watch this film. Maybe this isn't for you, instead maybe watch one of the many films out there in movieland that cater for your tastes. But if you like something a little different with a good plot and some really great acting, watch this. This is a great film to curl up to on the couch. It's not too long and it kept my interest all the way. It has a great twist at the end as well, one that I didn't see coming. Great acting. A simple but atmospheric and compelling story. I enjoy a car chase like anybody else but sometimes I want something more. Something edgy. Something well written and gritty and dark. Something different.I gave this an 8 because it ticks those boxes for me. It may not be the best film I've ever watched but I liked it.Enjoyed

In The Other Man, it features Liam Neeson and Antonio Banderas as competitors for a woman's love in Laura Linney. It was written and directed by Richard Eyre. When Peter discovers evidence of an affair on his wife's laptop, he tracks down the other man in Milan and stalks him. But though there are taut moments of suspense, the movie's emphasis is on watching Peter's mind unravel and seeing the damage this does to his daughter Abigail. The film is talky, witless, and tension-free despite best efforts of the talented lead stars. Also,it suffers from some confusing editing and a few implausibilities, but the main reason it languishes in obscurity is that it defies the usual expectations of a thriller. It could have been a fascinating case study as it is, it's intriguing but fails to fully satisfy. But nevertheless, Neeson is, as ever, compelling. In addition to that,it is beautifully shot on location in Milan and Lake Como as well as in London.

It's the first time I've watched this movie and after the end decided to find out a bit more and looked up IMDb. I cannot express with the words how appalled I am, first, at its low rating here, and second, at some of the reviews! People complaining there is no murder in the plot (!) - for goodness sakes, can we not watch anything without a murder anymore? Should any drama be classed as a bad movie now just because there is no blood spilled? One reviewer just couldn't understand any of the Ralph's actions as depicted in the movie: it does not take much brain work to see Ralph being portrayed as a man who is ashamed of his social standing, it really is clear why Peter is checking out all the photos in the rich flat that Ralph opened by keys so easily available to him and showed off as his own. Why or why would you, Mario Carrier, come here and write a review for the whole world to see how challenged you are? When I read the stuff written by some people on the internet I simply wonder what the world is coming to...Mario, if you are a young person, you may still have a chance: go to a library and read, read, read, and read! I advise you to read lots of classical literature first - everything you can get and by different great authors from different countries (from the Americas to Europe to Asia), then move to the 20th century greats. If you do this for 2-3 years you may try and watch this movie again and I am hoping you may just get it. If you are older than 30, well... I would advise you to focus on your children and ensure that they read a lot and get better education than you - your only chance is your children...Liam Neeson is great as usually; Antonio Banderas - an outstanding portrayal of the type of a man that Ralph is, just breathtaking to watch him during the last scenes at a dinner party in memory of Lisa, so vulnerable because he is at the mercy of Peter and so resolved about it, with all his janitor plus 'jigolo' lifestyle in his eyes at the same time; Romola Garai - another breathtaking performance and again, the dinner scene when she stops Peter from spoiling everything is just perfect. Laura Finney great as Lisa and the cancer illness scenes are some of the most real I've ever seen (my dad died of cancer and I know what I am talking about!).
