Greybear33 Worse even than Corpses are forever. How people like Tom Savini and the great Miss Quigley were pulled into this specimen I will only wonder. I can think of no situation or circumstance that I would suggest this to anyone. Not Funny. No special effects. I have seen better dialog in the quiet times of Castaway. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to find the most humor in: The aliens costumes - jogging suits and rain coats. film quality - grainy at the very best, eye straining most of the time. I am sure that it is meant to be funny but they only thing you find humorous is that Mr Prendes has made more than one attempt at film-making. Run away.
dragonmaster0303 I do applaud 'writer/director' Jose Prendes for trying.... but I really could strangle him for succeeding! This is horrible, it really is. I seriously can't say anything good about this drivel. I doubt that even if you're a fan of bad movies you'll get anything at all out of this, other than a good sleep possibly. And as for his acting, that shouldn't be allowed under some human rights legislation or other. It's very painful to humans and quite possibly animals too if they're unfortunate enough to watch any of this by accident.I see that he's written two more films since this one and directed one of them. Lord help us! Someone really should take all his cameras and equipment off him to save us more grief. Oh, and his pens and pencils too. Not to mention any computer/word processing equipment he might have. In fact we'd better chop off his hands and rip out his tongue while we're at it. And can't people communicate with their eyes too? Let's pluck those out and slice off the eyelids just for good measure. And what if he's telepathic and could still communicate his ideas to someone else? I think the only way we're all going to be safe would be to decapitate him.I'll volunteer.
Dave While he is no Ed Wood, Jose Prendes may be a director to reckon with in the future. "The Monster Man" is a live action comic book of continious action and kung fu. While the film is a bit overlong, there is a strong attempt to entertain. There are some comic situations that are really funny and thought out.Given the film's backyard budget, this film holds up better than so many mainstream motion picturs with superior budgets. If Prendis maintains his ensemble of actors (Quigley, Savini) and loyal crew, he may be able to create a bigger budgetted career. The potential is there.
Chris Mackey (guestar57) Mister Prendes,Take a bow.Your first effort smacks of success.Liked the homage to Omega Man,Jackie Chan.Martial arts were right on and very funny dialogue.Lets review the cast: Denice Duff(congrats on Song Of The Vampire, btw),Conrad Brooks(Pally, the cue cards arent working),Tom Savini(ooooh,Dude you sooo rock!) and Linnea Quigley(a rare passable performance).
