I attended the second screen day of the documentary film "The List" at SVA theater in New York during Tribeca Film Festival just yesterday afternoon, I am glad to be the first one to give a review on IMDb! The film was excellent in showing the reality of the problem, yet there are some scenes which were horrible to see, but like me I lived it Iraq, and I have to rate it more than 10 stars, but honestly, after the film, we had an open discussion and I said to the team including the director, I wont rate your film, but this documentary revealed our pains over the years of the struggle to get the freedom we sought to have, with our pains no bargaining and no numbers to rate.Kirk Johnson, this unique person who founded the List Project worked hard to bring the freedom for his Iraqis co-workers because of the threats they got because they worked the US forces in Iraq, some of them got killed, some of them fled out of Iraq, some of the got the freedom and many are waiting an answer and Kirk Johnson, helped them and helped thousands now to get their freedom!Operation Iraqi Freedom, found for those translators a job and became translators for the US forces, over the years of working with them and the emerging of terrorists in Iraq, they were targeting, many of those Interpreters got slaughtered, sniped, tortured, and threats of different kinds, until they realized there is no more hope, they fled Iraq, to no where, and the List Project gave them a real hope to be FREE!Lots to tell, but simply, it worths to watch ! Beth Murphy did great job of filming this story over the last 5 years, and it is such a unique hard work, I am wishing all the best for this film and hoping by watching it, you will realize what is the problem and what is the list meant to be !
