I can honestly say that watching this film is 90 minutes of my life wasted! I love The League Of Gentlemen, I love Gatiss, Shearsmith and Pemberton, but no matter how hard I try I can't love this film. Don't get me wrong, there were some funny bits. I loved the parts where the characters were interacting with the real world and their creators, but the Geoff Tipps storyline was pointless and unfortunately it ruined the film. In my opinion they should have made it as a 'special' episode instead of a movie. If they had shortened it to 45 minutes or an hour the storyline might not have spiraled out of control. I love the characters and I love the writers, but I think that they should have left it at series 3, instead of pushing the franchise until it wasn't funny anymore.Alles Klar!

To say that this movie is bad is to say that this movie isn't your type of thing, but to say it is a masterpiece is giving it too much credit, even if the people who say this are fans of the original show. This film in my opinion suffers from one thing and that is continuity errors that tie in with the series, that some fans of the show may or may not be able to ignore. The first error comes from the idea that Tubbs and Edward are back despite the face that we saw them killed at the beginning of series 3. The second is Pauline speaking to Mickey, at the end of series 3 they were married and in the beginning we see them speak but we see no sign of them being together and no mention of whether or not a divorce was involved at all. The third continuity error we see is that the vicar is back, at the end of the Christmas special we see her taken away by Papa Lazarou (excuse possible spelling error), which is carried on into the third series where we see posters outside the church with her picture displayed as a person missing poster. All in all however all the major characters are back in this film and it is an enjoyable experience for any fan of the show if these continuity errors are ignored and the film is watched casually rather than in any depth, and if you have never seen The League Of Gentlemen you will be able to watch this film without picking up on any of these errors, however if you are a fan of the show as I am myself you may want to go into this film with an open mind.

"The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse" is clearly for the fans. I cannot imagine anyone who has not seen the television series genuinely enjoying this film. The best parts of the film are really enjoyable thanks to the ways the League of Gents mess around with their characters, and not due to the jokes themselves, which aren't all that great. The idea behind the film, which annoyed many people but not myself, is that the characters have to leave Royston Vasey and go to the real world in order to meet their creators and save themselves from being ignored in favor of a 17th century film script the Gents are working on. I actually found this film thoroughly enjoyable before we see any of the 17th century stuff, which really drags the film down. It just is not funny at all. These characters are boring, overly silly, and don't really fit well in the film. Without these characters and the horrifyingly messy conclusion to the film, "The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse" could have been a British comedy classic, but they just do not work here.Steve Bendelack, director of all three series of "The League of Gentlemen", returns for the film version and rediscovers the magically gloomy feel of Royston Vasey, and directs the film with finesse for all the scenes in London. The acting is, and this goes without saying of course, phenomenal, especially from the Gents, but also from the supporting cast (including a solid turn from Jeremy Dyson, the one writer who doesn't act as a character on the series)."The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse" is an ambitious idea with a surprisingly unambitious execution. The script goes for more potty humor than the series ever did, and genuinely lacks the macabre edge the series had. You would think that given the freedom of making a theatrical film the Gents would take risks but they tend to go for obvious jokes instead. The best part of this script is their handling of the classic Royston Vasey characters, especially Herr Lipp, who gets a big and fun part in the film. Plot-wise things get really messy, especially towards the end.A missed opportunity perhaps, not as great as some die-hards claim, and certainly not as bad as many others claim, merely a passable film with some great moments.6/10

league of gentleman has been the most disturbing British sitcom to be on t.v and how can a funny movie be so bad rated, they just have no taste this film will make you want to watch over and over again and still find it funny.it is surprising that it has done bad but it is British the cinema do crap most of the time but this time it (in my words) a boost with comedy with a giraffe spunks over Lady's, this is a top British comedy and better than dodge-ball, so by this and it won't prove you wrong as i don't really laugh through films but this film was amazing through comedy with the best characters but i was a bit disappointed of how much Edward and Tabb's were in there for back to typing buy this film and it won't disappoint you.
