Dev Khanna The movie is based on a Shakespearean age stage actor,Harish Mishra(Amitabh Bachchan).Harish also called harry, is a die hard fan of Shakespeare and thus aspired to be a successful stage actor at a stage in his life. In the last lear,after a long long time I see the character of the movie Harish and not Amitabh Bacchan because what Amitabh did was he became Harish and was not seen anywhere as the personality that he is.Amitabh Bachchan was at his best. Rituparno Bachchan,Amitabh Bachchan and Arindam Chaudhuri,very rare combination but done their excellent job in this movie The Last Lear.The movie is in English and i really like the way Shakespeare's art portrayed in this movie.

Bhoumik Chawla I really like the plays of Shakespeare and this is the first time i have seen the movie based on his play,an art movie.I have seen all the movies given by Arindam Chaudhuri's Planman Productions and this is perhaps their best movie.The Last Lear,perfect title for the movie,with perfect cast and perfect story.The director finds a way of telling you the story of Harish(Harry) in a slow but amusing way!The last lear is about Harish Mishra(Amitabh Bachchan),a retired Shakespearean theater actor who spent precisely more than thirty years on stage and then suddenly quit.He is immensely passionate about Shakespeare and believes that nothing even comparable can ever be written.

Nilam Rathi This movie The Last Lear may not be liked by the people who don't like art films but will be fully enjoyed by all keen in watching such art movies. The story is very good and so is the acting,direction and screenplay.Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Shefali Shah, Divya Dutta and Jishu Sengupta, this is one movie that can be considered as superb.The film has been made beautifully.It gives one the feeling that you are watching a Shakespeare drama on a screen and I am saying this from my own experience in not just studying some of the bard's dramas, but also having acted in one many years back.The movie is really nice and our Bollywood should also come up with this kind of stuffs.

Harjeet Kaur The Last Lear is a movie based on Shakespeare's play and after watching the movie you will surely realize how amazing the director Rituparno Ghosh is.The movie talks about Harish and his love for Shakespeare's plays and theater.The movie shows how he wanted to be successful as a stage actor but on his last performance he goes in comma.Planman production always came up with brilliant star cast and this time they have taken the great Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.Not only him,all the other star cast priety zinta,Arjun Rampal and others all were very nice in the movie.Amitabh always experiments with his roles and have tried to show the mature and intensive performances day by day.
