Compared to the original ...this is absolute garbage. This movie is geared for the 13-14 year old that would find this movie funny. This not a put down to 13-14 year old. I would find it funny at 14 too. 90% of all movies are geared to this age group today. Spiderman-superman-wonder woman etc

Entertaining and fun, all the way through! And with a really great soundtrack too. It starts out looking like a typical romantic comedy, but I think it's not. The humor is a little bit darker, smarter and less cuddly. I'm almost prepared to give it an 8.So why do so many dislike? Well I think people mistook it for another cuddly romantic comedy. It's not. And some think that the characters are unlikeable. Well they are not. Eddie, Stiller's main character, is trying to do the right thing - all the time. He just happens to have a pushy and whimsical father (spot on by Jerry Stiller) that makes him not always make the right choices. And there is some bad timing involved. This is what could have happened to any of us!Some say that the girl wasn't that bad, she didn't deserve what happened. Well maybe not, but she wasn't too innocent either. It wasn't just the small things, it was the combination of all of it, all stacked together, and her attitude on top of it. It's okay when people are not super smart, but when dumb and with bad attitude, ignorance and perhaps a hint of manipulative, it's not good. And the way some women tend to mentally disturb their husbands and they just let it happen to avoid further domestic trouble, it's so sad but not too far from reality. Women should stop henpecking their men. Be kind.

The Heartbreak Kid (2007): Dir: Bobby Farrelly, Peter Farrelly / Cast: Ben Stiller, Michelle Monaghan, Malin Akerman, Jerry Stiller, Danny McBride: Diverse comedy about false security associated with marriage. Ben Stiller finally gets married but he must deal with his wife's bad habits. To further complicate matters he falls for another woman while on the honeymoon. Directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly whose best films include Kingpin and There's Something About Mary. Their style of humour is generally vulgar but they also delivery of characters viewers may identify with. Stiller plays the frustrated husband whose ideal woman isn't what he thought. He is unsympathetic in his new relationship that is based around deceit. Malin Akerman steals scenes as his annoying nagging bride who is bedridden with a skin rash. Her final scene is embarrassing but she plays it with full gusto. Michelle Monaghan is Stiller's new fixation celebrating her parents' wedding vows. She is down to earth but headed for a deceptive relationship. Jerry Stiller plays Stiller's father who urges his son to get married. It is a straightforward role but the relating actors look good together. Danny McBride steals moments as Monaghan's cousin who verbally abuses Stiller on sight. Vulgar humour highlights the blessings and curses of relationships and other potential heartbreaks. Score: 8 / 10

Ben Stiller, Michelle Monaghan, Malin Akerman and Jerry Stiller star in this 2007 comedy remake of the 1972 film. Stiller (Zoolander) plays bachelor, Eddie who hasn't found the right woman yet. Ackerman (Couples Retreat) plays Lila, an attractive woman he soon meets and dates. After 6 weeks, Eddie decides to marry her and they go to Mexico for their honeymoon. Soon, Eddie learns he may have made a mistake when Lila is not whom he expected. Eddie secretly finds romance with another woman, Miranda (Monaghan) who eventually learns he's married. The Farrelly Brothers directed this and previously worked with Stiller in "There's Something About Mary." Stiller's father, Jerry (The King of Queens) naturally plays his on screen father, Doc and Danny McBride (Pineapple Express), Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead) & Polly Holliday (Gremlins) also appear. This is a good comedy with a great cast I recommend.
